🌺Bougainvillea flowers that Burmese people call the Paper flower🌺
Hello my loving Asean Hive community,
Welcome back to my nature blog. How are you guys? How is it going ? Is everything OK? These days I've been talking about the vegetables I've grown in my backyard. It's been a while since I've not talked about the flowers I've grown in my front yard. Yesterday I talked about the 2x spicy noodles I made with my friends. Today I'm going to tell you about the Bougainvillea I planted in my front yard.
Do you like to plant plants? And do you love flowers? Some people love pets very much, don't they? I love pets, but I also love plants and flowers. When I finished high school, I wanted to go to an agricultural college. However, I haven't been able to go to that college yet because of politics. However, in my small backyard, I grow and maintain vegetable and flower plants every day with my father.
The first picture was taken about 5 years ago, when we first moved into this house. At that time, my father and I had just started planting small plants in the front yard. The second picture is the one I took today. Now the plants in front of my house are quite big and the flowers are blooming in all colors. Now I will tell you about the bougainvillea plant that I have planted at my house.
Have you seen the flower I showed above before? I think you can find this flower in many places in many ASEAN countries. What is the name of this flower in your area? And when does this flower bloom in your area?
The name of the flower is Bougainvillea, and in our area they call it 'paper flower'. I think they call it 'paper flower' because Bougainvilleas have no scent and their petals are as thin as paper.
What is the weather like in your area right now? In our area, it is spring. These paper flowers also bloom in abundance in our area during the spring and summer. These paper flowers are easy to grow and can withstand rough conditions.
We have four different colors of paper flowers planted in front of our house. These colors are white, red, pink, yellow, and purple. And these paper flowers are very easy to grow. Would you believe that we didn't buy and grow all those paper flower plants? All those plants were cut from branches by my father from his friends. Those branches didn't even have roots. My father put all those branches in the soil and mixed them with neutral fertilizer. All of these paper flowers are grown in this way.
You can see in the picture above that the paper flower Bougainvillea is different from other flowers. In our area, that paper flower is called the Japanese fire stand paper flower. The shape of this paper flower is different from other paper flowers, the flowers are small and the flowers are clustered at the top of the branch.
That's it for today, but thank you very much for reading my post to the end. 🍇
Wow! Look at all those colorful flowers you got, they're so vibrant and fresh to the eyes. Reading your article leads me to reminisce my youth--- going back, we used to have this plants in our ancestral home in the city until a great typhoon came and took them all😪 We call this in our place "bombells" and they usually bloom in most parts of the year, especially during summer. You're so lucky to have a "green thumb" dad! ❣️
Thank you for voting on my post❣️
This flower is also common here. It's nice ornament as well as beautifying the outdoor surrounding. They come in different vibrant colors. I noticed that it's nice to plant this along the fence; maybe because it has strong branches and thorns to keep trespassers off. Hope someday you can still pursue your agricultural studies. When I was a kid, I used to help my father plant anything. Now, we don't have space for planting in the city. The only thing with Bougainvilla is that when they fall off from the branch, the ground will be filled with all the dried flowers then you will be busy sweeping them heheh...
The house I lived in before was too small, so I wanted to plant these plants, but I didn't. These plants are very beautiful planted on the fence. It's also a great place for passersby to take pictures.

My pleasure ☺️
Bougainvillea was truly a pretty flower. As what you have said it has a vibrant and papery bracts. The bougainvillea was also a drought-resistant plant who can grow and survive on sunny areas. It was also popular and common in gardens here in the Philippines. It is indeed beautiful but be careful on it thorns.
Yes, Bougainvillea plants are beautiful but have thorns. That's why my father and I decided to plant these plants on our fence. Thank you very much for your kind comment.

The Bougainvillea tree is huge and its flowers are so colorful! They're popular here because they love full sun and require almost no maintenance. 🏵️
