Social Media Challenge || Using More Ranged than Magic Units
Hi, everyone. Welcome to my post. In the Social Media Challenge, I will discuss anything about SPLINTERLANDS, it can be about cards, abilities, rulesets, battle reviews, End of Season results, or my playing experience.
In this post, I will share the formations when both sides are most likely to use debuffs on Magic units.
Battle
The ruleset for this battle is BORN AGAIN (all monsters in the arena receive an additional REBIRTH
ability), and AIM TRUE
(No unit's attack misses in this ruleset).
In the first round, Life Sapper and Venari Spellsmith attacked my Cursed Windeku. Venari Spellsmith also used the DISPEL ability to remove the buffs received by Cursed Windeku from other monsters.
Xenith Archer defeated Venari Marksrat for the first time and that caused the opponent's Cursed Windeku to receive an additional 1 point in all his stats. Because of the BORN AGAIN Ruleset, Venari Marksrat came back to life even though it was defeated again by Weirding Warrior (and the opponent's Cursed Windeku received an additional 1 point).
My Ravenhood Warden, Doctor Blight, and Cursed Windeku attack my opponent's Cursed Windeku. My Cursed Windeku must take damage from THORNS ability when it attacks. Meanwhile, my opponent's Cursed Windeku is hit by the poison effect when Doctor Blight attacks it.
In the second round, my opponent's Life Sapper and Cursed Windeku defeated my Cursed Windeku for the first time. The Venari Spellsmith then defeated my Cursed Windeku again shortly after it was resurrected using the REBIRTH ability. My opponent's Cursed Windeku took damage through the THORNS
ability when it made an attack.
Xenith Archer and Weirding Warrior defeated the opponent's Cursed Windeku for the first time. This was followed by Ravenhood Warden defeating the opponent's Cursed Windeku again after being revived.
The Corpse Fiend that occupies the first position attacks the Life Sapper that is also currently occupying the first position. Doctor Blight also attacks and gives it a poison effect.
In the third round, Life Sapper lost due to the effects of the poison he received in the previous round. On his comeback, he was defeated by Xenith Archer. During the first and second defeats, Life Sapper used the REDEMPTION ability to deal damage to all my units. But luckily at that time, all my units were still protected by ARMOR so when the REDEMPTION
ability activated twice, they only lost ARMOR.
The Venari Spellsmith defeated my Corpse Fiend for the first time. Meanwhile, the opponent's Corpse Fiend was defeated twice in a row, by Weirding Warrior and Ravenhood Warden respectively. The Venari Spellsmith who was now in first place received an attack and poison effect from Doctor Blight.
In the fourth round, Venari Spellsmith lost due to the poison effect he received in the previous round. It also has the same REDEMPTION ability as Life Sapper and that makes my Corpse Fiend lose for the second time. Meanwhile, my other units took 1 point of damage.
Xenith Archer then defeated Venari Spellsmith again, causing him to activate REDEMPTION. This time Weirding Warrior is defeated first due to the damage he took. The Weirding Warrior was revived and he again had 2 ARMOR.
Chaos Agent was defeated first by Ravenhood Warden and Doctor Blight. Meanwhile, the second defeat only occurred in the next round by the attack of Xenith Archer.
Battle Review
The reason I used a lot of Ranged monsters is because I thought that the opponent might use debuffs on magic monsters, either by using units that have SILENCE ability or using Thaddius Brood as Summoner. And unexpectedly the opponent used those 2 methods.
Using MARTYR abilities is a good idea because of the BORN AGAIN Ruleset so that later one or 2 units will receive an additional 2 points from units that have MARTYR
abilities. But the idea didn't cross my mind when I saw the amount of mana and elements available and the ruleset. Meanwhile, the opponent uses this strategy and uses 2 magic monsters that have REDEMPTION
abilities to reduce the HP of all my units slowly.
Another reason I use range monsters is because some of them have indispensable abilities. Ravenhood Warden gives additional ARMOR to all units and Attack power to all my Melee monsters. Meanwhile, Weirding Warrior can remove 2 ARMOR belonging to all opponent units using RUST so that the attacks from my Melee and Ranged monsters are likely to hit their Health points directly. But if that is not enough (they still have some ARMOR left), then Weirding Warrior can use the SHATTER
ability to remove all ARMOR owned by the target.
Those are the kinds of things I discussed in this Social Media Challenge. Thank you for reading to the end and see you in other discussions in next week's Social Media Challenge.
