Social Media Challenge || Testing My Luck on New reward Cards || Tusk the Wide's Battle
Hi, everyone. Welcome to my post. In the Social Media Challenge, I will discuss anything about SPLINTERLANDS, it can be about cards, abilities, rulesets, battle reviews, End of Season results, or my playing experience.
In this post, I will try to get some new cards from the Reward shop as well as my battles using Tusk the Wide.
Trying My Luck on New reward Cards
On August 15th, Splinterlands officially changed the Soulbound Reward Cards to the new edition. The old version of Soulbound Reward Cards cannot be found in Rarity Draws or Loot Chests when we buy them in the Reward Shop. However, older versions of Soulbound Reward Cards can still be found in third-party marketplaces.
Today (before I made this post) I tried my luck to get some of the latest Soulbound Reward Cards. I had about 28K Glint and on the first try, I spent 10K Glint to buy 10 Major Chests from the Reward Shop and got the results below.
I got around 1070 Merits, 3 Energy, and 5 new cards (3 Common, 2 Rare) on this first try. Of those 5 cards, 3 of them have even gone straight to level 2 (Ujurak Elder, Thunderho of Nomad, and Martoren Trader). But what caught my attention was not them, but...

When viewed and compared between his level 1 and level 8. Commander Slade is arguably the strongest. At his first level alone, he already has 2 abilities (which is a rare occurrence for Rare cards). Perhaps this is because he has high Mana points so he needs 2 abilities at the initial level to balance out his other stats.

Compared to Diemoshark (which is often my choice when using Water Element), Commander Slade is slightly superior at the first level (plus 2 abilities from the start). Whereas at level 8, Commander Slade is further ahead in terms of overall stats (except Health points) compared to Diemonshark at the same level.
Unfortunately, Commander Slade requires high Mana to be playable so it is most likely that he can only be played while in a battle that requires high Mana (over 30).

On the second try, I decided to buy 1 Epic Draws because I saw that some of the monsters there had new abilities. And luckily, the card I got turned out to have had a new ability since its first level.
-
Night Reaper, which is a monster from Dragon Splinter that has Epic Rarity, even has 2 abilities since its first level. The latest ability I mean is WINGBREAK where this ability will target monsters that have the FLYING
ability first.
And on the third try, I bought 10 Major Chests hoping to get as many cards as I did on the first try. Unfortunately, this time I only got 2 new cards and a lot of Merits. It seems that my luck had been used up in the first try so I got a few cards in this second try.
Battle
The ruleset for this battle is REVERSE SPEED (monsters with the lowest speed get the chance to attack first), HEALED OUT
(All abilities related to healing cannot be used in this ruleset), and HEAVY HITTERS
(All monsters receive an additional ability in the form of KNOCKOUT
)
In the first round, Tusk the Wide immediately defeated Chaos Agent. His attacks were then countered by Doctor Blight and Djinn Biljka so that Tusk the Wide took 3 points of damage as well as poison effects.
Scavo Technomancer attacks Lurking Puffer and deals additional damage to Uraeus. Acid Shooter tried to target his attack at Radiated Scorcher but missed. And the last attack came from Uraeus who attacked Venari Heatsmith and gave him a poison effect. But when he attacked, he was also damaged by the THORNS ability that Venari Heatsmith had so Uraeus lost at that moment.
In the second round, Lurking Puffer was defeated by an attack from Tusk the Wide and made Scavo Technomancer regain the Attack power lost due to the debuff given by Lurking Puffer earlier. Scavo Technomancer then attacked Djinn Biljka but failed to defeat him at once because of the VOID ability that Djinn Biljka had to dampen his attack.
Doctor Blight who had previously taken additional damage from Scavo Technomancer's attack then attacked Tusk the Wide along with Djinn Biljka and Acid Shooter.
In the third round, Venari Heatsmith lost due to the effects of the poison he had received in the previous few rounds. Tusk the Wide defeated Djinn Biljka. Scavo Technomancer attacked Doctor Blight and injured Acid Shooter with the BLAST ability.
Doctor Blight and Acid Shooter tried to attack Tusk the Wide, but only Acid Shooter's attack failed to hit him.
In the last round, Tusk the Wide lost due to poison effects so Radiated Scorcher took his place. Doctor Blight attacked Radiated Scorcher and gave him a poison effect. Scavo Technomancer defeated Doctor Blight and reduced the Health points of Acid Shooter using BLAST . And that was taken advantage of by Radiated Scorcher by attacking and defeating Acid Shooter.
Battle Review
In this battle, Tusk the Wide managed to survive the attacks of several opponent monsters thanks to the Health points he had. In addition, Tusk the Wide can immediately defeat his opponent in one attack making this battle finish so quickly.
Scavo Technomancer also played a role in this battle thanks to his BLIND ability. With this ability, he was able to thwart 2 Acid Shooter Attacks aimed at Radiated Scorcher and Tusk the Wide. The RUST
ability was also quite helpful this time because, with the ability, Uraeus could not use his ARMOR (which was lost due to the effect of the RUST ability) to protect him from the effects of THORNS
when he attacked Venari Heatsmith.
Those are the kinds of things I discussed in this Social Media Challenge. Thank you for reading to the end and see you in other discussions in next week's Social Media Challenge.
