Hi, everyone. Welcome to my post. In the Social Media Challenge, I will discuss anything about SPLINTERLANDS, it can be about cards, abilities, rulesets, battle reviews, End of Season results, or my playing experience.

Surly Drunk

Surly Drunk is one of the Legendary units in the Soulbound REBELLION edition. Legendary units in Soulbound REBELLION edition have two types, normal ones and those with only 1 Mana point. Surly Drunk is included in the unit that only has 1 Mana point.

1 Mana point Legendary units in Soulbound Rebellion edition resemble 0 Mana Legendary units in Chaos Legion. The goal is to fill the vacant position or only be used as a target for attacks from opposing units.

If in Chaos Legion, the abilities obtained are buffs/debuffs. Then in the Soulbound REBELLION edition, the abilities they receive are abilities that can be used to attack from any position. Like Surly Drunk who gets the OPPORTUNITY ability. OPPORTUNITY is an ability that can be used to attack from any position and target the opposing unit that has the lowest HP.

Battle

The ruleset for this battle is MANEUVERS (All units have additional REACH capability), HEALED OUT (healing abilities cannot be used in this ruleset), and REVERSE SPEED (Attack order starts from the unit with the lowest Speed).

In the first round, Venari Marksrat, Tusk the Wide, and Surly Drunk defeated Chaos Agent. The remaining opponent's Magic units (Moxian Rebel, Lurking Puffer, Queen Mycelia, Madcap Magus, and Thunderhoof Nomad) defeated Venari Heatsmith. Meanwhile, Uraeus attacks Thunderhoof Nomad and gives her a poison effect.

In the second round, Moxian Rebel was also defeated by Tusk the Wide, Venari Marksrat, and Surly Drunk. But before that, he along with Lurking Puffer, Queen Mycelia, and Thunderhoof Nomad attacked Tusk the Wide although the damage was minimized by Tusk the Wide's VOID ability.

Madcap Magus this time aimed his attack at Venari Marksrat and he received an additional max HP through his LIFE LEECH ability. Thunderhoof Nomad was easily defeated by Uraeus (at the start of this round, she lost HP due to the poison effect she received in the previous round).

In the third round, Lurking Puffer also ended up defeated by the combined attacks of Tusk the Wide, Venari Marksrat, and Surly Drunk. Only Queen Mycelia attacked Tusk the Wide while Madcap Magus chose to attack Uraeus and increase his max HP again. Uraeus responded by damaging Madcap Magus's ARMOR while giving him a poison effect.

In the fourth round, Tusk the Wide and Queen Mycelia attacked each other. Venari Marksrat also briefly attacked Queen Mycelia before being defeated by Madcap Magus (who increased Max HP after defeating her). Queen Mycelia was defeated by Surly Drunk.

Although Madcap Magus survived this round after losing HP due to the poison effect and receiving a big attack from Uraeus, he had to lose the next round due to the poison effect that was still on him.

Battle Review

In this battle, Surly Drunk was lucky because he received a large amount of buff (INSPIRE ability). So he has a large Attack power. In addition, Surly Drunk is also not the target of the opponent's unit, and that makes Surly Drunk can freely attack and defeat the opponent's unit using his OPPORTUNITY ability.

Using the Fire element in the REVERSE SPEED ruleset turns out to be quite appropriate (especially in choosing specific units) because the opponent prefers to use the EARTH ELEMENT, which mostly has units with low speed.

The selection of the opponent's units, which were all magic, made the battle easier. Because I anticipated it by using Venari Heatsmith (VOID ARMOR ability) and Tusk the Wide (VOID ability), which can reduce the damage they receive when hit by attacks from Magic units, Tusk the Wide who also has the INSPIRE ability (adds 1 Melee attack point) made me decide to use Nimbledook Scout who has the same ability. It turned out that the decision made Surly Drunk able to defeat the opponent's unit when it was his turn to attack.

This formation might be an option if you want to optimize the performance of Surly Drunk.
