Hi, everyone. Welcome to my post. In the Social Media Challenge, I will discuss anything about SPLINTERLANDS, it can be about cards, abilities, rulesets, battle reviews, End of Season results, or my playing experience.

In this battle, I tried using these 2 units because there was a ruleset that suited them.

Battle

The ruleset for this battle is KEEP YOUR DISTANCE (Melee units cannot be used in this ruleset), WEAK MAGIC (Attacks from magic units can't directly hit the HP of targets that have ARMOR), and CLOSE RANGE (All range units receive additional CLOSE RANGE ability).

In the first round, Angelic Mandarin and Rage damaged Djinn Oshannus's ARMOR, while Runeseer Sevaya and Igor Darkspear injured Djinn Oshannus and gave him a STUN effect that made him unable to move. But before being hit by STUN, he had damaged Baakjira's ARMOR together with Musa Saline.

Swamp Spitter repairs the ARMOR of Djinn Oshanus and attacks Baakjira. Baakjira failed to land his attack on Djinn Oshannus, while Mar Toren Trader managed to damage Djinn Oshannus's ARMOR (but was eventually repaired again by Merdaali Guardian and he even healed Djinn Oshannus's HP).

Attacks from Venari Wavesmith and Captain Riverboat do not hurt Baakjira and Rage who are affected by the BLAST ability.

In the second round, Rage damaged Djinn Oshannus's ARMOR which was immobilized due to the STUN effect. The attack continued by Angelic Mandarin, Runeseer Sevaya, and Igor Darkspear which reduced Djinn Oshannus's HP. Meanwhile, Mar Toren Trader and Baakjira who healed their own HP failed to land their attacks on Djinn Oshannus.

This was utilized by Swamp Spitter and Merdaali Guardian to heal and repair Djinn Oshannus's ARMOR. Of all the opposing units, only the attack from Swamp Spitter managed to hurt Baakjira. While the other units were blocked by Baakjira and Rage's VOID abilities which made their magic attacks not deal any damage.

In the third round, Djinn Oshannus was finally defeated by attacks from Rage, Angelic Mandarin, Runeseer Sevaya, and Igor Darkspear. Captain Riverboat who took his place also took a hit from Baakjira who had previously healed his own HP.

Swamp Spitter repairs Captain Riverboat's ARMOR and attacks Baakjira. Mar Toren Trader damaged Captain Riverboat's ARMOR again but was repaired again by Merdaali Guardian.

In the fourth round, Riverboat Captain was defeated by attacks from Rage, Angelic Mandarin, Runeseer Sevaya**, and Igor Darkspear. Musa Saline tried to attack Baakjira along with Venari Wavesmith but couldn't hurt him due to the VOID ability.

Baakjira healed himself and damaged Musa Saline's ARMOR but was repaired by Swamp Spitter who also attacked him. Musa Saline's ARMOR was damaged by Mar Toren Trader but was repaired by Merdaali Guardian.

In the fifth round, Musa Saline was defeated by Rage, Angelic Mandarin, and Runeseer Sevaya. Merdaali Guardian also received attacks from Igor Darkspear and Baakjira which gave her a STUN effect. Swamp Spitter repairs Merdaali Guardian's ARMOR and attacks Baakjira but the ARMOR is again damaged by **Mar Toren Trader.

Merdaali Guardian and Venari Wavesmith were defeated in the sixth round, while Swamp Spitter lost in the next round.

Battle Review

When I found out that KEEP YOUR DISTANCE was one of the rulesets in this battle, I was confused between Endura Brune who has 2 debuffs (HEADWINDS and SILENCE abilities) or using Angelic Mandarin and Mar Toren Trader.

Despite losing in total attack as well as Mana usage efficiency, Endura Brune still has the additional SWIFTNESS ability and only requires 1 unit. While Angelic Mandarin and Mar Toren Trader were the opposite. But in the end, I decided to use Angelic Mandarin and Mar Toren Trader so that I could have a higher total attack despite needing 2 units.

Using Rage and giving Baakjira the opportunity to TANK as well as attack turned out to be the right decision because the opponent uses more Magic units which is an advantage for Baakjira because he has VOID which can reduce the impact of damage from magic units attacks.
