BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge! || BACK TO BASICS Ruleset
BACK TO BASICS

"All Monsters lose their abilities."
BACK TO BASICS is a Ruleset that negates all abilities possessed by all monsters in the battle arena. This effect only applies to monsters and does not affect Summoners. So the key to winning battles in the BACK TO BASICS ruleset depends on Summoner selection and looking at other conditions (Manacap, available elements, and if there are other Rulesets).
The easiest way to win battles in this ruleset is to use Magic monsters because the attacks from magic monsters will directly hit the Health points of the target even if they have ARMOR. However, if you are in the LOST MAGIC Ruleset which prohibits the use of Magic monsters, then the way to get through the BACK TO BASICS Ruleset is to rely on monsters that have ARMOR.
RULESET & FORMATION
In addition to BACK TO BASICS, the Ruleset in this battle is...
EQUAL OPPORTUNITY
EQUAL OPPORTUNITY is a ruleset that gives additional abilities in the form of OPPORTUNITY to all monsters in the battle arena. The thing to avoid when in this ruleset is to use monsters with low Health points (below 4 points) so that they are not immediately defeated in one attack by the opponent's monsters that are equipped with the OPPORTUNITY
ability.
But if we are forced to use a monster with low Health points (because it has a very crucial ability), we must at least bring a monster with the TAUNT ability so that the attacks from the opponent's monsters are diverted to it. Or you can also use summoner Lily Shieldpaw which gives CAMOUFLAGE
ability to all monsters so that the opponent's monsters will only attack the monster in the first position.
AIM TRUE
AIM TRUE is a ruleset that makes attacks from all monsters never miss. AIM TRUE Ruleset works almost the same as the TRUE STRIKE ability which both make attacks unable to miss. The only difference is that this effect can be owned by all monsters in the AIM TRUE Ruleset.
Since all attacks are sure to hit the target, it would be a waste to use abilities that are specialized in evasions, such as FLYING , PHASE
, BLIND
, and DODGE
.
But in exchange for not being able to use abilities to avoid attacks, we can still use abilities that minimize damage such as SHIELD and VOID
. Or you can also use the FORCEFIELD
ability if the attacker has ATTACK POWER of 5 points or more.
However, the most appropriate strategy for the AIM TRUE Ruleset is to use monsters with high SPEED to defeat opponents faster. Or you can also use help from Summoners or monsters that have abilities such as SWIFTNESS (to speed up our monsters) or SLOW
(to slow down your opponent's monsters).
My Line-Up
Cards | Ability | Reason |
---|---|---|
![]() | - Give an additional 2 SPEED to All Allies - Give additional abilities (SCATTER SHOT ![]() ![]() | I chose to use Conqueror Jacek because he gives an additional 2 SPEED to all my monsters (and that is the most SPEED addition compared to other Summoners who only give an additional 1 SPEED). In addition, Conqueror Jacek also provides an additional ability in the form of PIERCING ![]() ![]() |
![]() | BLOODLUST + VOID ARMOR + VOID + GIANT KILLER | I put Grum Flameblade in the first position because it has a lot of Health points and ARMOR that can withstand attacks from opposing monsters for as long as possible (even if it has to get attacked by Magic monsters). In addition, Grum Flameblade has a large ATTACK POWER that can destroy ARMOR and reduce the Health points of the target. And even though it has the lowest SPEED, its attacks (and other low-speed monsters) can still hit the target because they are in the AIM TRUE Ruleset. |
![]() | IMMUNITY + RETALIATE + PIERCING | Although it has the highest ATTACK POWER among the others, I put Forgotten One in second place because it has a lower HEALTH POINT than Grum Flameblade. Another reason I put Forgotten One in second place is so that it and other monsters that are not in the first place can focus on attacking targets that have the lowest Health points. |
![]() | CLOSE RANGE + STUN | I chose Lava Launcher because he has quite a lot of power stats, especially the amount of ARMOR he has. It aims to survive the opponent's Melee and Ranged monster attacks. Lava Launcher which is a Ranged monster will be more affected by SCATTER SHOT ![]() ![]() |
![]() | SNEAK + DODGE | I chose Tenyii Striker because he has very good stats (especially ATTACK POWER and Health points) despite having only 5 Mana points. |
![]() | BLAST + REDEMPTION | Despite having the lowest Health points, I still chose Exploding Rats to be used as an opening attack (choosing which target my other monsters should defeat first). Although there is another option, Scavo Firebolt, it has lower SPEED and is a Ranged monster that will be affected by SCATTER SHOT ![]() |
![]() | OPPRESS | I prefer Magi of Chaos over Supply Runner which both require 6 Mana points because it has higher Health points and Magi of Chaos is a magic monster that can directly target its attacks to the Health points of its target (which each round targets randomly because it is affected by SCATTER SHOT ![]() |
BATTLE START !!!
The opponent chose to use WATER SPLINTER and rely on Kelya Frendul as Summoner. Kelya Frendul gave an additional 1 SPEED and 1 ARMOR to all of the opponent's monsters, and I was 1 SPEED ahead of the opponent. The opponent also chose to use 3 Magic monsters and 2 of them had high Health points.
In the first round, Exploding Rats briefly attacked Angelic Mandarin although they were eventually defeated by Djinn Oshannus. Angelic Mandarin, Deeplurker, and Nerissa Tridawn simultaneously targeted their attacks at Lava Launcher. Meanwhile, Diemonshark attacked Grum Flameblade.
Magi of Chaos this time directed its attack at Djinn Oshannus while Lava Launcher attacked at the opponent's Magi of Chaos. Tenyii Striker and Forgotten One defeated Angelic Mandarin and Magi of Chaos respectively. And the final attack of the round came from Grum Flameblade who attacked Diemonshark.
In the second round, Djinn Oshannus defeated Lava Launcher. Tenyii Striker briefly attacked Deeplurker before being defeated by Deeplurker and Nerissa Tridawn. The Magi of Chaos again directed its attack at the Djinn Oshannus while the Forgotten One managed to defeat the Deeplurker.
Diemonshark and Grum Flameblade both countered each other's attacks.
In the third round, Djinn Oshannus and Nerissa Tridawn attacked Magi of Chaos. But Djinn Oshannus was defeated by the attacks from Magi of Chaos and Forgotten One. Diemonshark and Grum Flameblade both countered each other's attacks.
In the fourth round, Nerissa Tridawn defeated Magi of Chaos, Forgotten One defeated Diemonshark (though he had previously attacked Grum Flameblade), and Grum Flameblade attacked Nerissa Tridawn.
In the final round, Nerisa Tridawn briefly attacked Grum Flameblade before being defeated by attacks from Forgotten One and Grum Flameblade*.

Review of this battle
The victory this time can be said to be quite lucky. Because, even though I lost the number of Health points compared to some of my opponent's monsters, I was still able to win by using the great Attack power of some of my monsters. I was also lucky to use Magi of Chaos this time because its attacks were always aimed at Djinn Oshannus even though it had a SCATTER SHOT ability that would usually attack different targets in each round.
