Battle from the Past (#15): Wrong Positioning (Again)
Hello everyone, welcome to my newest segment, "BATTLE FROM THE PAST". This segment was created because when I want to make a post for another Challenge (Social media and Secret Battle Mage Challenge) I always save all the battles I win. So that when the theme is determined, I don't have to bother to do a lot of fighting again because I have saved some of them.
Since the unused battle links are piling up, I created this segment to share those battles with you all. For this time, the struggle that I will be sharing is...
The rulesets for this battle are NEED FOR SPEED and MELEE MAYHEM. NEED FOR SPEED only allows using units that have SPEED above 2 points (3, 4, 5, etc.). Meanwhile, MELEE MAYHEM allows melee units to attack from any position even if they do not have targeting abilities (SNEAK or OPPORTUNITY abilities). However, in the MELEE MAYHEM ruleset, melee units can only attack targets in the first position (or attack targets that have the TAUNT ability). The benefits obtained by Melee units in the MELEE MAYHEM ruleset are the same as when receiving the CHARGE ability.
I only used 1 Melee unit while the opponent used 4 Melee units. both sides used Vruz to utilize his MARTYR ability.
My Lira the Dark defeated my opponent's Vruz in the first round. That made Djinn Chwala and Cursed Windeku* receive a 1-point boost to all of their stats. Void Dragon attacked Djinn Chwala along with Vruz. Afterward, my Vruz was defeated by my opponent's Djinn Chwala and Lira the Dark*. Void Dragon now also receives a boost to all of his stats thanks to the defeat of Vruz.
The first attack of Carnage Titan and Cursed Windeku injured Void Dragon. While the second attack of Carnage Titan and Venari Bonesmith failed to hit him. Runeseer Sevaya repaired Void Dragon's ARMOR and removed its debuffs. After that, she and Rage and Riftwing defeated Djinn Chwala.
In the second round, an attack from Venari Bonesmith hit Void Dragon. That caused all of his buffs (2 ARMOR + MARTYR + SPEED) to be removed using the DISPEL ability. My Lira the Dark attacks Venari Bonesmith. While the opponent's attacked Runeseer Sevaya.
Void Dragon had attacked Cursed Windeku before finally Cursed Windeku defeated it. Carnage Titan could only hurt Lira the Dark in its second attack. Runeseer Sevaya repaired ARMOR and removed the debuff on Lira the Dark. Then, she and Rage and Riftwing attacked Cursed Windeku.
In the third round, my opponent's Lira the Dark attacked Runeseer Sevaya again. My Venari Bonesmith attacked my Lira the Dark and removed all of her buffs. Riftwing defeated my Cursed Wind.
The Carnage Titan again could only land its second attack on my Lira the Dark. But that was enough to defeat it. ***Runeseer Sevaya repaired her own ARMOR and together with Rage attacked Carnage Titan.
In the fourth round, Lira the Dark and Venari Bonesmith defeated Runeseer Sevaya. Riftwing defeated Carnage Titan. And Rage attacked Venari Bonesmith.
In the fifth round, Lira the Dark and Venari Bonesmith attacked Rage. Riftwing defeated Venari Bonesmith. Rage attacked Lira the Dark. Lira the Dark was only defeated in the next round by Riftwing.

Review
Due to the small speed difference, Void Dragon's uniqueness coupled with MARTYR+BLIND was not optimized. It was even defeated easily by the opponent's Melee units (despite a few missed attacks). The wrong unit placement was repeated in this battle. I was overly expecting that the opponent would use multiple SNEAK units in his formation (it turned out to be only 1 SNEAK unit and it was immediately lost by Lira the Dark).
Luckily, the opponent focused too much on Melee units and didn't think I would rely more on Magic units. That made the opponent only prepare units that are specialized to deal with attacks from Melee and Range units (SHIELD and THORNS abilities), and not prepare units that can deal with attacks from magic units (VOID and MAGIC REFLECT abilities).
That's one of the battles that I shared in Battle from the Past this time. Hopefully, you will get a little idea about the strategy after seeing this battle. Thank you for visiting and reading this post until the end. See you in the next post.
