Thanks to upcoming airdrops, $HIVE is HODLing strong
Hi HODLers and Hiveans,
Unfortunately January did not start out as many of us expected. Bitcoin is crashing down due to the FED being more hawkish therefore putting pressure on risk-on assets such as cryptocurrencies or NASDAQ.
As rates go back up, investors have less free money to play with and leverage is becoming more expensive.
HIVE is holding quite well
HIVE is only down 5% in the past 24 hours whereas BTC is down c.7% in the meantime.
I believe the upcoming airdrop tomorrow of @3speak tokens (actually it is a claimdrop) and even if I haven't been paying a lot of attention.
Thanks to @hivechat I have gathered some answers and it seems it will be a monthly claim, every month during a full year.

Of course, the other thing people are looking forward to is the @ragnarok. This is a tactical game where NFTs will be randomly airdropped to Hive and Hive Power HODLers.

The Snapshot time seems to be the same as for the $LARYNX (3Speak airdrop).
After the tremendous succes @Splinterlands has encountered, Hiveans and gamers are very excited about the prospects of that game.
Excited to receive those and I must say, probably more excited about the Ragnarok one as I might get some very rare cards :D.

Might be a selloff after the snapshots are taken.
There is another thing to consider: I noticed the inflation payout on HP is down under 2.9%. It is going down, at a pace faster than the decrease in the overall Hive inflation rate.
That means there is more HIVE being powered up. That means less on the open market to trade.

That is something I hadn’t noticed and it is very bullish indeed ! Honestly, I like our slow and steady organic growth as I believe this is sustainable. One user at a time !

It's too bad we won't reap the rewards for a while but I am looking forward to getting the rewards a few months from now. I think the price will sell off afterwards as well.
