Blackjack is one of the most beloved casino classics, and Stakehouse Den brings this timeless favorite into the digital age with a clean, intuitive, and high-speed experience. Designed for simplicity and engagement, the game pits you against a virtual dealer in a direct, one-on-one showdown—no distractions, just pure card play.

Getting to 21: The Rules Unveiled

At its core, the gameplay remains true to traditional blackjack. Cards from 2 to 10 carry their usual face values; Jacks, Queens, and Kings are all worth 10. Aces offer flexibility, counting as 1 or 11 depending on what benefits your hand most.

Your goal? Beat the dealer by getting as close to 21 as possible without going over—going bust means an automatic loss.

Initial Deal & Natural Blackjack

At the start, both you and the dealer receive two cards. Your cards are revealed, while one of the dealer’s cards remains hidden. If either you or the dealer has a natural blackjack (an Ace plus a 10-point card), it wins immediately—unless both do, resulting in a push.

Player Choices: Strategy Calls the Shots

Once cards are dealt, you choose:

  • Hit — request another card (as long as you haven’t busted),

  • Stand — keep your current hand,

  • Double Down — increase your bet and take exactly one more card,

  • Split — if you have two identical-value cards, split them into separate hands and bet on each.

Dealer Must Follow Rules

After your turn, the dealer reveals the hidden card. They draw cards until reaching a minimum total of 17—and typically stand on a “soft 17” (for instance, an Ace + 6).

A standard win pays out 1:1, while a blackjack earns a higher 3:2 return. In case of a tie—or “push”—your original bet is returned.
