Social Media Challenge - Train Hard And You Will Be Rewarded

Good day to all, how are all of you doing? I am back again to do another battle sharing with the community on some special and memorable matches that I encounter as I play Splinterlands throughout the week. Today's sharing is a very unique one because I manage to pull off an interesting lineup that focus on weapons training and at the same time defeating my opponent whom had a much higher level in terms of cards. I've decided to share this match because I manage to put 2 weapons training card in the same lineup to enable multiple cards that do not have base attacks to become lethal weapons.

Just to recap for players whom are not familiar with Weapons Training. This is how the ability goes.

Weapons Training - Adjacent monsters gain this Monster's attack if they have no attacks themselves (max 3)

And this ability manages to give lineups loads of variant on how to play the match because card that you think are just non attacking suddenly all comes alive and will strike you hard. So let's dive in to the match sharing proper.

Ruleset: Are You Not Entertained and Even Stevens
Mana Limit: 29

Selection Analysis
Odd mana base but only able to use even mana cards, this will cause us to waste 1 mana since we will never be able to fill that. Nevertheless, I have plan for the match especially when I am able to use a Gladius card due to the Are You Not Entertained ruleset.

In my selection, I tried to be cheeky as I have 2 weapons training cards that fulfil even mana requirements. The first is Ferexian Hero and the other is Moxian Rebel. And when this happens, I know I can try something interesting over here. Having 2 of such cards can allowme to turn a whole lineup of attack-less cards into some lethal weapon by allowing them to be trained. I had 3 of such cards ready to be trained into action. First is a Scavo Chemist whom will be trained by Ferexian Hero to take the front tank with melee attack learned. Next is Krash Wanderford whom will be double trained by both weapon trainer and gain both melee and magic attack. To also note, Krash has a super high speed stat and even gives swiftness to the whole lineup. Last will be Iidri Fyre whom will have taunt and redemption but also trained in magic attack by Moxian Rebel. 3 seemingly harmless cards now become cards that will be hard to go against. I also line up my backline with a single Scorch Fiend. I am rather certain that my opponent will be surprised with what I have prepared for him.

Now to what my opponent fielded. Nothing out of this world, a very strong water based lineup that is well within my prediction with Xenith Monk as tank with healing. Then it is a whole string of attackers in the form of Oshannus, Deeplurker, Igor Darkspear and also Kulu Swimhunter. Of which all of them are no easy cards to go against especially when they are very much levelled up.

A standard water based lineup with strong attackers versus my crazy weapons training lineup using 2 weapons trainer. An interesting match awaits as I use non-conventional methods to combat someone whom used very much a conventional deck. Let's go into the battle itself.

Round by Round Synopsis

Round 1 - A relatively exciting round 1 where Idrii Fyre took so much punishment and even got poisoned. Not a very good start for me where I thought I could have her sustained longer. Otherwise, other cards still generally unscathed.

Round 2 - Things not looking too good with the round started with Idrii Fyre being poisoned to death and triggering redemption. Scavo Chemist didn't manage to contribute and fell to the nasty whack of Deeplurker. Things are looking a little gloomy for me. Can this crazy weapons training lineup really do good?

Round 3 - Thing starting to get from bad to worse with even Ferexian Hero falling in this round. But we manage to get Krash Wanderford to gain 1 blood lust stat bringing melee attack to 5 and magic attack to 2. Against a still very strong lineup of cards, Krash has to do a miracle for me to overturn the match.

Round 4, More casualties with Moxian Rebel also falling but tide is turning as almost no one manage to land a hit of Krash Wanderford and it does great damage to Oshannus. Will this be the turning point of the match?

Round 5, Krash takes out Oshannus and now become faster and faster at 10 speed. And so far no one can touch him. Will this double trained card lead us to victory?

Round 6-7, The beast in Krash Wanderford become full blown as it clear out every single remaining card in my opponent's lineup to secure the win! I am blown away by how Krash Wanderford manage to chew up everything into bits and pieces because of his double trained capability with the crazy stats.

Battle Summary
A double trained Krash Wanderford is no easy card to defend against. Gaining the melee from Ferexian Hero and magic from Moxian Rebel gave it the capability to unleash on the opponent with a double attack. This is really a true case of training hard and getting rewarded. While I did plan for the other 2 cards to be able to contribute after weapons training but somehow they got taken out too fast from my opponents heavy attacks. A strong win using a little unorthodox methodology but it did work!

Wrap Up
Love the outcome of this match. I tried to be cheeky and it did work. Very scary to see a towering Krash Wanderford chewing up card after card with the double attack. It is almost become a Quora when being double trained. Let's explore more in weapons training and see them create new dimensions in attack for your lineups.
