Social Media Challenge - Stun Them Hard When You Play Heavy Hitters

image.png

Prelude
Good day to all, hope that you are doing well and battling often in Splinterlands. It is time again for another battle sharing on a match encounter that happened over the span of this week. Today I will be showcasing a match where utilize card with stun to gain maximum advantage when playing Heavy Hitters ruleset.

To help new players, here are some information on Heavy Hitters ruleset:

All units have knock out which deals double damage to units that are stunned.

Isn't this amazing? But the matter of fact is that there are not many stun cards available and hence most of the time, this ruleset will be overlooked and players often just play it normally. However, if you do have a stun card, do consider using it as it give so much value and give your lineup really good advantage. So let's dive into the match up and understand how Stun gave me such a big advantage.

Selection Analysis
We have 4 splinters available for selection - Fire, Water, life and dragon. To maximize the amount of mana given to me, I have decided to go with water splinter and that is where my collection is the deepest and I do have a full array of cards at my disposal. And especially for heavy hitters ruleset, I do have a stun card to aid me in this matchup and get me a little bonus.

So here is my selection of the lineup. With high five and high mana, I will have to ensure I field up beefier cards to fill up the mana and not waste it. Leading the line will be Commander Slade whom will be tanking and reducing melee attacks of whoever he faces while dodging melee/range attacks. Sticking behind Slade is the card that had been doing so well in loads of my matches, Oshannus which has void to reduce magic attack. Following Oshannus will be the most important card of this match, Water Caller, where this card will be dishing out stuns to gather me advantage. Then will be Nerissa Tridawn and Kulu Master, of which each are deadly in their own realm and doing crazy damage individually.

On my opponent end, my opponent used a dual colour summoner in Prunda Undervesch to allow both Life and Water Splinter in the match. Opponent's tank will be Imperial Knight with healing and Void Armour. Next will be Riklauniman which gives an array of abilities which includes Exposed, Kindred to allow adjacent cards to gain ambush and also charge to attack even when not at the front position. Following with be Olivia of The Brook which will suck all the abilities and become an abilities pool and finally a combination Aves Sturgis and Baakjira with weapon training to allow Baakjira to hit and a tonne of abilities on Baakjira.

A very strong team fielded by my opponent which have really good abilities and also I am in an under level state. This is seemingly tough for me but with stun, the stakes are overturned in my favour. Let's go right to the battle itself to see how it round went.

Round by Round Synopsis

Round 1 - As with usual matches, round 1 is like a round of exchanging blow and seeing how things move but generally no casualty. Though my Water Caller looks a little risky with it having taken so damage from Olivia.

Round 2 - This is scary as Slade is taken as well as me returning the favour via taking out Imperial Knight and this is crazy as my Water Caller is down to one health but manage to land a stun on Riklauniman. It's show time.

image.png

Round 3 - Oshannus struck first and there goes Riklauniman with one blow then subsequently my backline followed through and took out Aves Sturgis. A great reversal and more to come.

Round 4, Everything proceeded well with my side taking out Olivia which gave Oshannus a stun before she fell. But Water Caller struck again with a stun on Baakjira which had 12 health.

Round 5-6, With the aid of the stun, we had a relatively easy task to wind down Baakjira and finish it totally in round 6. A great win!

Battle Summary
It was so close that I might not get a chance to land my stun. However, when the stun machine starts action, damage went wild as my lineup just took the chance to burn big on my opponent and clear card after card with so much more ease considering opponent had a way more levelled collection than I do. Loving how things went for this match and a sweet victory to remember.
