Social Media Challenge - Aye Aye Captain Katie

Prelude
Good day to all, hope that you are doing well and battling often in Splinterlands. It is time again for another battle sharing. Today I will be sharing a battle that I just finished less than an hour ago which I saw how Captain Katie lead the charge and with the support of my backline taunt triage combo, bring me a great victory.

Captain Katie is one of my favourite Life Gladius card and because of her rarity and good abilities, it is rather easy to deploy her a large number of rulesets. In case you are not familiar or haven't own a copy of Captain Katie, here are her stats:

The best thing about this card is due to the Snipe ability which attacks those without attacks and these cards typically can be easily killed off by the high attack of Captain Katie and it will just continue to snowball till she can dispose off opponent cards with one hit.

So let's dive right into the match and see how Captain Katie performs.

Selection Analysis
Rare occasion that there is no ruleset being applied so anything goes. To my surprise, both me and my opponent used Life Splinter for this match. I was initially guessing opponent might use a Earth Splinter and bulldoze me with Quora.

In my selection, mana wise was not luxurious hence I opted to put in my Damage Absorption trio with Iziar, Spirit Hoarder and Meriput Magician. So what this trio does is simple, Iziar has the taunt and void will be taking all the punishment from opponent's backline. Spirit Hoarder with triage will do its best to keep Iziar alive and finally Meriput Magician role is to heal up the frontline to keep the front healthy as well. With the remaining mana, I have opted Imperial Knight to lead the front with the void armour and also the healing. I had 8 mana remaining, so I planned for Halfling refugee to be another meat shield before access to the backline and Captain Katie as the main damage dealer for my lineup.

Now to what my opponent fielded. The only one that is the same as me is Captain Katie. Otherwise, opponent used Drybone Barbarian as front tank and his level is higher than mine which comes with the retaliate ability. Katie should also be their big damage dealer followed by Venari Crystalsmith for the healing. There is also Ave Sturgis being fielded to give Chaos Agent magic training to be able to hit with a magic attack. To close off the full lineup, it will be Adele Brightwing with the repair and resurrect.

2 very different kind of lineup from a common life splinter. Strategy probably is slightly different on how to land the various combo between us. Will be an interesting match for sure. and there is only 1 way to find out. Let's battle!

Round by Round Synopsis

Round 1 - Many exchanges happen in this round with no casualties seen thus far. My backline trio still holding up really well with Iziar relatively at high health. My Captain Katie manage to create a dent on my opponent's one. Let's see how it progress.

Round 2 - Similar to that of round 1, but definitely more thinning down of the armour and also health on both side. My Imperial Knight and my opponent's Captain Katie might not survive the next round.

Round 3 - Same as what I predicted, Imperial Knight fell and opponent's Captain Katie fell but resurrected by Adele Brightwing. My Captain Katie should once again smash opponent's copy next turn and grow even bigger. Hope Halfling Refugee hold up as long as possible.

Round 4, While I did smash opponent's Katie again, Halfling Refugee got hit with a retaliate and subsequently another attack by Drybone Barbarian and fell. Now my Captain Katie front the lineup.

Round 5, Through Katie and Iziar attack, Drybone Barbarian is taken out and I see every single card health is lower or equal to Captain Katie. So the game is more or less in our hands.

Round 6, Led by Captain Katie, we cleared off every single card in opponent lineup except Adele Brightwing whom was subsequently cleared in round 7. A great win!

Battle Summary
The damage absorption trio did their part and healed both front and back tirelessly. Drybone Barbarian is a tough foe to face and the retaliate was crazy. The pivotal difference between the 2 lineup is that my Captain Katie had a peace of mind to strike with damage divert from her especially when there is a Captain Katie on the other side. Once she has free play to strike, she will grow and it will be too late before anyone can stop her rampage. Captain Katie leading the way!

Wrap Up
Life Splinter in this form is rather fun and especially with the way I lineup my cards to allow good attacks while keeping the attackers away from harm. Thank you for coming by and hope you like my sharing.
