Share Your Battle: Venari Wavesmith

Hello everybody, it's time again for Share Your Battle. We have the new focus reward system upon us. Wanted to try to do Venari Knifer which was the suggested card but no focus on earth so far, so I picked his fellow tribesman Venari Wavesmith.

Thoughts on Venari Wavesmith

Usually I will share images of what I think of for splinter cards. But somehow I do not have something in mind this time when it comes to Venari Wavesmith. Can't really find something that is water based rats that does magic.

Let's examine the base stats of Lvl 1 Venari Wavesmith.

Bronze League - Health + 1
Silver League - Speed + 1,
Gold League - Attack + 1, Health + 1, Dispel
Beyond Gold - Attack + 1, Speed + 1

When I joined Splinterlands back in December, this is the one card that everyone was asking me to get. The protect just helped provided an armour of 2 for everyone card in your lineup. And with Alric available back then, Wavesmith gets upgraded to a 2 magic card, which is really good.

• Position 3 - Chaos Knight

• Position 6 - Hero of Beyond

Prediction before pressing rumble
Very interesting lineup that I face for the first time. Never have I faced Chain Spinner or Hero of Beyond. Will be a good fight I guess.

Let's get ready to rumble
Round 1, All in tact. All attacks coming towards Diemonshark on my end and Shieldbearer on opponent end.

Round 2, Shieldbearer taken down but Diemonshark still stands strong.

Round 3, Diemonshark held long enough, 1 round more than Shieldbearer.

Round 4, Chain Spinner taken out and Chaos Knight is almost done.

Round 5, Chaos Knight and Harpy down. We are on track for victory.

Round 6 and 7, picking up the scraps and taking down everything else that is left. We secured victory at end of round 7.

After Thoughts
Wow, I love this match. Venari Wavesmith is such an amazing card. It allowed my Diemonshark to outlast Shieldbearer taking into account there is no taunt on Diemonshark and no opportunity, sneak and snipe opponent lineup which means Diemonshark manage to take up all the "punishment" from opponent lineup.

The additional 2 armour is effective especially if it is range/melee kind of matches. It might not have its full capability when facing a magic lineup. We saw a new variant of this card in the form of Mycelia Queen for Earth Splinter, which again provided protection for the backline of Earth Splinter which is very vulnerable to sneak attacks.

This card is a no brainer to own. It is really an amazing card to exist in every water splinter arsenal. So versatile in various rule set, but when playing unprotected ruleset, the protection it provides becomes not available.

Choosing Venari Wavesmith was really a good one for this match and it really provided the much needed boost to the lineup. Whenever it is needed, I will sure field it.
