PIZZA 2 Brawl Report - 29 Mar 2025

Greetings everyone, hope all of you had restful weekend so far and looking forward to your Sunday to spend time with your loved ones.. The latest brawl which my guild PIZZA 2 participated in had ended approximately a few hours ago and it is time again to look at how our guild did for this brawl on all aspects such as a guild, individually how each of the brawl matches went for me and the thoughts and decisions made behind how I put up each of my lineup to face my opponent based on the rulesets.

Since the start of Rebellion introduction, I have now changed my Brawl Fray to Fray 4 for my guild which is the fray that uses only Chaos Legion, Riftwatchers and Rebellion Cards. This is very beneficial for me because now that I only play in modern for my daily ranked battles, competing brawl in this format will be just like playing a normal rank battle. By participating in this modern fray, I will be exposed to more rulesets to refine my playing in daily rank matches. I have gotten more cards from the last end of season, hopefully there are opportunities for me to use them. Let's get right on to the battles of the brawl.

Remarks
Selection:Beefcake, Maneuver and Deflection Field. For the ruleset on this match, this essentially tells us that I need to bring in heavy artillery with loads of big melee and of course Quora must also be part of this match. Had also a 2nd Gladius in Tatina Blayde which will do serious damage and can even stand at the front when other cards in front fall. All of the melee have been boosted by Thane Newsong.
Outcome:Win! I had 4 more cards as compared to my opponent whom had 2 components in my lineup. With an overwhelming lineup over my opponent. This become an easy win.

Remarks
Selection:What doesn't kill you, lost magic and even stevens. If only there is magic, but unfortunately, there isn't and I cannot use Quora. So what I decided to do was to use Tatiana Blayde to push more damage and hopefully grow big and lead the charge.
Outcome:Win! A lucky dodge from opponent's Deeplurker gave Tatiana Blayde to land big shots and grow to become faster and bigger to fully power through the whole matchup to secure the win

Remarks
Selection:Lost magic and equal opportunity. For this match I had a few plans which firstly will be on the inclusion of Djinn Chwala for additional thorns to my opponent melee strikes. The remaining will be on the many double strikers to do additional damage to my opponent and lastly I have a blast card to give bonus damage.
Outcome:Win! The thorns and the inclusion of some heavy hitting range cards was important as well as the double strikers that did loads of surprise attacks to my opponent and each of them make it hard for my opponent as they all did good damage to clear out the lineup.

Remarks
Selection:Might Makes Right, Aim True and Healed out. When I saw aim true, Grum Flameblade came to mind and also Chinmey Wallstop. These are cards that have lower speed and tend to miss, so with Aim True, these cards will come in handy.
Outcome:Win! Opponent had only one card that is being fielded. With continuous bombardment from my lineup, it couldn't hold up long enough and we bulldoze through to get a win.

Remarks
Selection:Ferocity only. Mana wise, not a lot so I do my usual stunt with a combiation of Riftwing, Moxian Rebel, Scavo Hireling and Ravenhood Warden. These cards will help me do a small loop of armoured recovery which can help me sustain a little longer.
Outcome:Win! Opponent had an interesting lineup with a Marksrat at the back hoping that I will strike the back and boost its card but I had a totally different plan and won the match with a good cycle of recovery and persistent magic attack.

Guild Final Tally

I was assigned 5 matches for this brawl and won all 5 of them. 0 fleeing opponent and an additional 3 wins due to unfilled frays from opponent guild. Recovering from the single loss last brawl, I am once again back to winning ways and secured a nice clean sweep. So glad that I was able to pull this through and once again go back to a strong finish.

While we did have many of us did pretty well, we maintained at position 6. Win count wise while our win rate is really awesome, the lack of players to fill up frays is causing us opportunity losses where opponents are already at high win count. Look at our win rate versus the guild above us. 44 Wins but only 4 losses, that is how strong we are. Bulk of our opponents are all in the range of 60% wins. We really need more members to take up those frays. Go PIZZA 2!
