Community Engagement Challenge: Conclave Archana

Prelude
Hi all, good day to all of you. It's time again for Community Engagement Challenge. Today's challenge topic is on something that we've been all waiting for, the new set that is to be release soon, Conclave Arcana. So let's get right on with today's post.

Conclave Arcana

Finally announcement of the new set with much more information for Conclave Arcana has been shared by the Splinterlands team. New things that come about with the new set is being shared and it brings excitement all around the Splinterlands community. Many of us older players are looking forward to it since the last set of Rebellion and for new players, this will help to level set the playing field because older sets are being rotated out. So with this, I am expecting an exciting time for both old and new players as we embrace the arrival of Conclave Arcana.

Let's get into what excite me in this coming set.

Foil Types
We have been used to standard and gold foil but with the release of Conclave Arcana, we will see 2 new variants of card, one is the black foil and the other is arcane variant of the foil.

Here is how the black foil card looks like:

What a beautiful card this card that brings out the mysterious look of this card. While the drop rate is even lower than gold foil, it looked superb and can even be looked upon as a collectors item.

Drop rates as below stated:
Standard Packs: 0.025% (1 in 4,000 cards or 1 in 800 packs)
Alchemy Packs: 0.25% (1 in 400 cards or 1 in 80 packs)
Legendary Packs: 0.125% (1 in 800 cards or 1 in 160 packs)

And here's how the Arcane Variants look like:

These are essentially like the holo foils that we get on the trading card games that we usually play as a child. So beautiful and exquisite.

Packs for all spending capabilities

Starter Pack
This is something interesting with the launch of Conclave Arcana. The starter sets cost only 1,000 DEC or $1 in Credits and contains 5 cards from the Conclave Arcana set - one guaranteed Rare card and four more cards with 80% chance to be Common and a 20% chance to be Rare. Not bad isn't it? At a low cost, you will be able to build something competitive and to be viable to compete in higher ranks.

Standard Pack
As mentioned it is standard, it comes at a cost of 4,000 DEC or $4 in Credits. Standard 5 cards with one guaranteed rare and the respective odds as below:

Common: 75.2%
Rare: 20%
Epic: 4%
Legendary: 0.8%
Gold Foil: 2%

Alchemy Pack
As the name states, this is essentially the gold foil pack. It is having same odds as standard packs but comes with a guaranteed gold foil per pack. Alchemy packs cost 12,000 DEC or $12 in Credits.

Legendary Pack
Also similar as alchemy pack, the name speaks for itself. Same odds as standard pack but comes with a guaranteed legendary card. How cool is that!

New Archons
Something that is really changing will be the summoners cards will become archons instead. There will be new elemental strategies that come with this. There will be tribe/elemental blood line strategies that can be deployed. This should definitely bring out more fun as we slowly dive into the gameplay and I am very certain new meta will be formed with this massive change. Looking forward to these archons arrival.

New Abilities
Conclave Arcana introduces nine brand-new abilities. And with these, new abilities, I am expecting the whole gameplay to shake up as we embrace them and seek new ways to overcome our enemies. And here's how these abilities look like

Painforge: +1 power when damaged by Poisoned or Burning or hit by an ally.

Reckless: Each successful attack also deals 1 damage to adjacent allied units.

Bloodline Tribute: When defeated, all allied units of the same bloodline gain +1 health, speed, and armor and +1 power to each shared attack type.

Resurgence: Self-resurrects once per battle with 100% health and armor. All magic debuffs are removed, and all magic buffs are reapplied. Skips turn. Deals 1 physical damage to all units.

Shapeshift: Treated as all bloodlines.

Final Rest: Allied and enemy abilities that trigger on defeat cannot activate.

Reveal: Each round applies Revealed to a Camouflaged enemy unit. Revealed units can be targeted by direct attacks.

Relentless Strike: Attacks deal true damage. Phase and Dodge do not reduce chance to hit.

Bloodline Dominion: You can summon any unit of the same bloodline as this archon, regardless of element.

Very unique abilities that I foresee will capitalize on the various elements and archon unified abilities to gather advantage. And especially the bloodline dominion which breaks the conventional colour summoning because it will overlook the colour as long as it belongs to a certain bloodline of the archon. Strategies will be more complex for sure and I am really thinking how crazy battles can be now as there will be more ways to play than sticking to conventional methods of playing.

Wrap Up
I am seeing signs of economy shifting with the impending arrival of Conclave Arcana, many people are stocking up DEC and getting ready to land their hands on the new set. I do foresee alot of my current cards becoming less relevant and I will need to catch up with the new set so that I can still compete in modern gameplay. There will definitely be loads of market action when the cards arrive and I hope we can all see a new revival in the game and many more new players joining us.
