Grepolis - a parallel universe where i grew up, learned and experienced epic adventures.
Grepolis was more than just a browser game for me. It was a journey through time, an escapade into the golden age of Ancient Greece, where strategy and mythology intertwined in a captivating dance. It was a special RTS in those days.
For those who don't know this game - Grepolis is considered an RTS (Real-Time Strategy) game. It's mostly a free-to-play, browser-based online game that focuses on co-op and strategy. Basically, here players turn a small polis into a huge metropolis, recruiting powerful armies and sailing the seas of ancient Greece
There was a time when every click seemed to bring with it the promise of a new discovery, whether it was a new technology that would fortify my city or a strategic alliance that would ensure my supremacy in a virtual archipelago. The illuminated screen was my window to a world where the gods showed their favors in mysterious ways and where every decision carried the weight of fate.
I can honestly say that i kind of grew up with my city, from a simple polis to a brilliant metropolis, feeling like a real strategos. Yep, we called the first city Atlantys...it had become a habit. I learned to juggle resources, negotiate with neighbors, and lead my armies to victory. I felt the joy of expansion and faced the challenges of defense, learning from each battle and each alliance.
But as happens in life, interests and passions change. I discovered new horizons, new challenges that took me away from the world of Grepolis. However, the memories of those days still remain vivid in my mind as a testament to my digital youth.
Now, i look back on those moments with a nostalgic smile. Grepolis wasn't just a game, it was a part of my training, a chapter full of learning and adventure. And even though i'm no longer that gamer who spent hours in front of the screen, i readily admit the impact it had on me.
In the end, Grepolis was more than a struggle for power in a virtual world; it was a lesson in growth, personal evolution, and how games can reflect our journey in life. It was part of my journey, one that I now look back on with respect and gratitude.
- Curious - why don't many game makers like InnoGames go for the decentralized environment with their personal titles?
Decentralization, achieved through blockchain technology, offers a number of advantages, such as transparency of transactions, increased security and the possibility of having unique digital assets through non-fungible tokens (NFTs). These features are appealing to developers and gamers looking for greater ownership and control over their digital content.
