Splinterlands Social Media Challenge | Last Battle of Novice League!

Add a heading (1).png

Namaste to all the warriors of Splinterlands!πŸ™

I started playing it at 12 noon with the thought that after 2-3 battles I would get back to work. It's almost 3 o'clock now and now I realize that I have to write a blog as well and most of the day has already passed. It's not that I didn't care about anything else this whole time, but it's true that this game is really quite fun.

This is my entry to the weekly social media challenge For this week, I chose my last battle of Novice League After winning this battle, I entered the Bronze League.

image.png

It was a bit difficult to go from Novice to Bronze League in just a few days, but at the same time, I had a lot of fun and learned so much from it. Till now I have all the basic monster cards and my opponent also has cards of the same level, but after this battle, the difficulty level will probably increase, which I am sure will make playing this game even more fun.

On the battlefield, everyone has their own way of defeating the opponent while standing strong in oneself. Since I still consider myself new here and I still have a lot to know and understand. So, Instead of trying something new in every battle, I prefer to either choose a summoner with the same element as my opponent, or I choose a summoner with a Death or Fire element as I have fought and won the most battles with them so far.

This is my strategy to understand the summoners and its monsters one by one, so that I have in-depth knowledge about them.

image.png

Let's now discuss my most remarkable Splinterlands moments.

The total mana cap for this battle was 36, including the summoner's mana cost.

Summonerdetails
I chose the summoner of the death element whose name is Reklah and mana cost was 5. This Summoner can either take 2 Health of 2 monsters or give Reflection Shield to 2 monsters.
Rule set (Standard: no modification)Meaning
In this rule set, there is no limitation or restriction, you can use any monster or summoner in the battle.

image.png

The reason behind choosing Reklah as my summoner was that I have fought many battles in my Novice League with this guy and I have some experience in making a team with him, also his powers of taking 2 health of 2 monsters and giving reflection shields to 2 monsters can give you an edge before the battle even begins.

1st position (Helheim Demon)Ability
This monster has a mana cost of 10, is a level 1 card, and its abilities are Flying and Taunt.

2nd position (Dhampir Stalker)Ability
Mana cost of this monster is 7, is a level 1 card, and its ability is True Strike.

3rd position (Nimbledook Ranger)Ability
Mana cost of this monster is 7, is a level 1 card, and its abilities are Snipe and Double Strike. (Which I like a lot)

4th position (Venari Spellsmith)Ability
This monster has a mana cost of 4, is a level 1 card, and its ability is Dispel.

5th position (Life Sapper)Ability
This monster has a mana cost of 3, is a level 1 card, and its ability is Life Leech.

I created my team by using all my mana cap with these monsters.

Now I will take you to my battle!

Round 1

This screenshot is just before the battle starts. The battle begins as soon as the monsters receive power from their respective summoner. I used my summoner's health-taking ability, but the opponent's summoner also had the ability to take health, but could only take one, so all of my monsters lost one health. After which now it was the turn of the monsters to fight.

I won't lie, I had confidence in my team, it's just that the opponent's first-positioned monster was a bit dangerous because of its ability, whenever anyone attacked it, it would counter-attack with double the strength but in this fight, I also discovered a flaw in this monster which was already there, I just had not paid attention to it.

Round 2

The weak side of that strong 1st-positioned monster of the opponent's team was that according to his ability, only when you attack him with melee, he attacks with double the strength. And unknowingly, I didn't have a single monster with a melee attack. Due to this the attacks of my monsters overpowered him and that monster was knocked out at the beginning of the second round. Then during the second round, another monster from the opponent team was knocked out.

Round 3

By the time I reached the third round, my first ranked monster had lost almost half its health, and all the monsters had only lost one health, except the last one because it had the Life Leech ability, which increases his health each time it damages an enemy unit's health.
After which, in the third round itself, two more monsters of the opponent were killed, the main reason for which was my last monster, Life Sapper and my second monster Dhampir Stalker whose true strike ability meant that none of its attacks would miss.

Round 4

In the middle of the fourth round, I noticed one thing. My third position strong monster, which has the ability to attack twice in every round, had two attacks failed one after the other because the opponent's monster had the shield ability. (This point should be noted) Well, if those attacks had hit, it would have been knocked out without losing even a single monster, but after being saved by the shield, the other monster killed my 1st position monster in its turn. However, in the same round, my last monster knocked it out in one single hit. Now the opponent had only one monster left for the fifth round.

Round 5

Now, in front of my 4 monsters, this lone monster's chances of survival were negligible. Thus, with the victory in this battle, I got promoted from the Novice League and joined the Bronze League.

Conclusion and what I learned

The most important thing is that every ability has some limitations, so it is very important to understand it properly. Like, initially I was afraid of the Thorns ability of the opponent's first-ranked monster, but its limitations were that it only works in melee attacks. This time, inadvertently, all my monsters were without melee attacks, but next time I can strategize accordingly.

Apart from this, the ability to attack twice in each round is amazing, if the opponent did not have a shield then this battle would have ended long ago. Overall, this game is not as easy as it seems. All the abilities are amazing but they also have some limitations, so only your good strategy and experience can help you win in this.

You can enjoy my entire battle here

Now this is too much. Pros don't struggle even for 100 votes,πŸ˜… but I have to do it every day. Yes, I am doing well, but I don't know what it takes to become a pro. I don't know why they don't see me.. Something is missing in me, I know but I don't know what it is. :)

Dear beloved Hive creator,

Coding poet Gudasol here to support you sharing your art + life on Hive.

As a fellow creator, I know how hard it is to get the word out there.

I built cXc.world to help creators like us get more support from the blockchain community + beyond.

Share your music on cXc.world, and copy the Markdown for a easy post includes embedded players for Spotify, Youtube, Soundcloud.

That way, you can earn HIVE + stack streams on centralized platforms, as they do still matter.

Not a music creator? No problem. You can still use cXc.world to find + share music you love.

What's next?

Preview the next evolution of cXc, Tetra.earth.

Expose local music from your area!

We're helping grassroots musicians, and you can too by adding their music (no sign up or WAX account required).

Bad news: Saying see you later to Hive! πŸ‘‹

We didn't get the needed support to continue cXc.world on Hive, as our DHF proposal lacked votes, but [Good News Everyone] cXc.world will add a Markdown copy button, allowing you to easily share your music + music you find on Hive.

For now, we're on WAX, with tools you can use to mint your own Music/Media NFT collection.
