Splinterlands Social Media Challenge | First Battle after purchasing Spellbook!

Namaste to all the warriors of Splinterland!πŸ™

Splinterlands is undoubtedly an exciting game. This is my entry to the weekly social media challenge For this week, I chose my first battle on Splinterlands after purchasing the Spellbook.

I have heard about this game for the last several months and since then I wanted to be a part of this battlefield. Not only because it's based on #play2earn but also because it's quite exciting to strategise your battles with so many monsters, their abilities, magic, powers and much more. Initially, I thought this game was very difficult and maybe it was not for me Because firstly, I don't usually play online games and secondly, ==this is not a random card game but A Real Battlefield.==

But then some old warriors of this game encouraged me and finally a few weeks ago I purchased the spellbook here. And the process of purchasing was so easy that everything was done within a few minutes and I would like to tell you about the experience in short.

First of all, when you see this banner on the home page, you are briefed about the benefits of this spellbook.

Then once you click on 'BUY IN SHOP' You reach the below page where you get the options of the most famous and convenient payment methods. Since I am a part of Hive Engine it was easiest for me to pay with crypto so I clicked on that.

After which the page shown below opened and the thing I liked the most here was that even in crypto you have many options through which you can buy the spellbook.

Among all these options, I chose to pay through Hive, immediately after which I saw the price of the spellbook in Hive on the screen.

Here I authenticated the payment and the next moment my spellbook and all its associated benefits were unlocked.

This was officially my first step into Splinterlands but I was yet to enter the battlefield.

Then the day before yesterday, I fought my first battle, and I realized how simple it is to learn the gameplay.

No no, I am not saying this because I won my first battle haha! but because the developers of this mind-blowing game have made a tutorial for us to understand the game so amazingly that even a child can play it. But to win, you will have to play with your intelligence and cleverly make strategies, which is a challenge in itself and ==this is what makes the Splinterlands even more fun.==

Now let's talk about my first battle!

As I learned in the tutorial, the first thing to do is to understand which element the opponent used and how they performed in recent battles. My opponent heavily relied on the fire element And since I am very new to this game and this was my first battle, I thought it would be better to stick to the same element instead of experimenting with something else. This way I can focus more on my team of monsters.

Rule set (Standard: no modification)Meaning
In this rule set, there is no limitation or restriction, you can use any monster or summoner in the battle.

Mana Cap 17Meaning
Each card has a mana cost. The cap represents the total combined mana I can spend for this battle.

For my first battle with the fire elemental, I chose Tarsa as my summoner, the reason behind that as a newbie was her low mana cost because I could only spend a total of 17 mana for this battle and her powers of +1 Melee and +1 Life which also benefited me in the battle. After this, I started choosing my fire creatures.

1st position (Radiated Brute)Ability
Reach

2nd position (Kha'zi Fire Mage)Ability
Scattershot and Doge

3rd position (Gobalano Soldier)Ability
Sneak and Ambush

4th position (Radiated Scorcher)Ability
-

I created my team by using all my mana cap with these monsters.

Now I will take you to my battle!

Round 1

The battle begins as soon as the monsters receive power from their respective summoner. At first glance, I thought it looked like a pretty fair game, meaning both my opponent's and mine's team looked equal. But the second-last position monster of the opponent team was knocked out in the first attack ambush. This was a surprise for me too!

Round 2

Now the opponent had only 2 monsters left and one of them had only 2 lives left in the first round and as soon as the second round started 'Gobalano Soldier' from my team hit that weak monster of the opponent and he also knocked out in the beginning. The second round had just started and the opponent had only one monster left.

About midway through the second round, my first-position monster was killed, but not before my entire team of monsters had nearly killed the opponent's last remaining monster. After which my Radiated Scorcher monster, which had now slipped to first place, destroyed the opponent's last monster in one single hit. And with this, the fight ended in just 2 rounds.

Conclusion

At my level, I have learned from this battle that you can make a great team even with low mana cost if you make a strategy keeping the quality in mind. I don't know what mistake the opponent made because I am completely new to this. But I knew that the mana cost was low so I had to distribute it among the monsters instead of adding one monster with a high mana cost.

Also, I read a little about some abilities like Ambush, Scattershot, Dodge, Etc. That is why I knew that these abilities would cause huge damage to the opponent and thankfully my strategy worked well and I won the battle. :)

You can enjoy my entire battle here
