SPLINTERLANDS BEGINNER'S GUIDE

Splinterlands is a card game built on blockchain technology. This means that you will be able to buy, sell and trade your digital assets freely. This game is similar to Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh and Magic the Gathering where you build up your cards in order to increase the power of your cards.
It is a free-to-play game where you can familiarize yourself with it and be able to recognize how it works. However, if you want to earn you have to buy the Summoner's Spellbook worth 10USD.
DISCLAIMER:Before purchasing, make sure you are able to lose what you have spent. DO NOT spend what you cannot afford. Do your THOROUGH RESEARCH before buying anything.
HOW TO START PLAYING SPLINTERLAND?
To start playing Splinterlands, go to their website https://splinterlands.com/ and create your account OR click this link https://splinterlands.com?ref=typicalgamer04 to start with a higher card power. There are many options on how to create account such as Metamask, Wombat and more.
After registration, you will be given a temporary name that can be changed once you have bought the summoner's spellbook.
You will be asked if you want to go to the tutorial. If I were you, I would proceed to the tutorial in order to know the basics.

THERE ARE FOUR MODES IN THE GAME
- Ranked - This is the mode where you will be able to rank up and battle with other players. It is also the mode where you can earn Dark Energy Crystals that can be used to level up your cards. However, if you battle and keep on losing, your capture rate of dark energy crystals will keep on going decreasing. I will tackle more of this later on.
- Challenge - This is where you can battle with your friends to fight and see how powerful your cards are. This is not considered as ranked thus, you cannot earn anything with this mode.
- How to Play - You will be able to learn the basics of the game such as the stats, strategies, and the abilities. If you have skipped the tutorial part, you can click this mode.
- Practice - You will be able to battle with a bot and be able to practice your strategies in the game. It will also not affect your ranking/standings in the game.
