Since I already set everything up to play some on my 2nd account it seems fitting to share my current strategies that is working in modern with only the starter deck and a few common reward cards.

So far It has been working out very well for me, and others that use similar strategies.

I am still just bouncing around in Bronze League, but a streak of 9 wins for free 2 play is something. I think this is counting games from last season also since there is no way I played 68 games in 1 day. Click the images of battles below to watch them through Splinterlands. The list starts with the oldest of the 20 battles I am sharing. There are some random other Teams that I tested out mixed in with what I think is going to be the low tier meta. Can you believe it heals are strong again! I do have a few reward cards from the current set also, but not many yet.

These first few matches are mediocre but as I go they get better.

This team (above) I played against has a few nice examples of the extra cards and their power vs the starter deck. I won a Helheim Demon from Clove71 and look forward to playing with him on TXRacer soon. Chaos Weaver, Chaos Evoker, and Dark Arborist are all excellent reward cards you will earn from playing.

Pictured below is another match against some decent cards again Helheim Demon puts in work and distracts my team from their real jobs!

The fight above I think is an excellent low mana team with only starter cards. I abused weapons training and defensive cards with no attack.

The fight below is yet another example of the power of just pulling rewards cards. I feel this is the best thing about Splinterlands is how far you can get playing for fun.

The top game was goofy on my part, I was using Possibilus the Wise so much last season my brain couldn't grasp why stampeede was not causing trample to pop off. On skill based play I should have lost this one, but just got lucky with the power of these new cards.

The battle below shows the power of trying to out damage and pick off the other teams healers. Once the healer was down it was game over for that big meat shield.

These 2 games I was just playing around with Prophet Rosa. No dice with these games, but I have had some success with the 2x +2 ranged cards.

The loss streak was starting to get annoying, but it happens. So back to the "My Meta Team" to try to get some more wins and glint for the brawl in a few hours.

Did you see the foreshadowing these are just more examples of how strong Aviana of the Wolf is along with their minions!

I am glad to see some new cards with flank that fit the front line roll better, But I am still not sure about the correct time to use them.

These 2 matches I thought fit Skyspire Yak well so I gave him a couple chances with mixed results.

WOW! Then there is this game. Beating up a Commander Slade is a tough ask for my current cards but it happened.

Bonus cherry picked battles!

The previous stated use case of the +2 Range bonus of Prophet Rosa can be seen in the battle above.
6 damage per turn from snipe is going to be a contender for meta teams. so try to use someone like Anachron Bolter to help lessen the blow to your team, or even a card with Return Fire like Albahoo Forester as your first non melee card my just take out their snipe cards.

While writhing this about the 2x +2 range bonus someone was likely to play Helheim Demon so I used this strat to easily take him down. Plus the fact that 2 hits is top notch for Holy Protection Rule set.

Using double heal with spread speeds to make a lower life card a much stronger tank. Then having return fire in the position that snipe would have hit makes for a very strong team.

Or you can use the heal as triage on the front line heal to protect the setup from spread damage teams like in the fight below. The best part is you get to pick where the heal will apply after seeing their cards most of the time.

Now the cards I have on the list of stuff to pick up soon maybe is Helheim Demon, Arachne Weaver, Commander Slade for SweetTreats, and I haven't found any that are must haves for TXRacer yet.

Hopefully I can pick these reward cards up soon, any maybe a Helheim Demon for only $0.29
