Battle of the lights

As usual, I am excited to share my victories in battle. This time, the battle was under unique circumstances as there was a ruleset. I used a summoner of the light element. My opponent also used a summoner that was partly of the light element. The mana cap for this battle was 46.

Ruleset: Going the distance [Only units with ranged attack can be used]

My summoner was Avina of the Wolf. This is a summoner of the light element that provide to advantageous options. It could either increase the speed of selected units by 2 or give healing to a selected unit.

In the first position, I put Anachron Bolter. This was a very tactical choice for me. Because of the ruleset which only allowed for units with ranged attack, I decided to go for a unit that had a combination of ranged attack and another kind of attack. This monster looked like the perfect choice because it is both a ranged and a magic attack card. That is an extra advantage. One of the reasons I chose Avina of the wolf as summoner was because it would grant me access to this card.

Ranged attack cards are not effective from the first position, except they have the close range ability. This is why I picked Anachron Bolter for the first position. It can deliver magic attacks while in the tank position. In addition, it has a rich health of 6 and 1 armor. This stat combined with the healing provided by my summoner made it last longer in battle.

This monster has a speed of 3, so it is fast. The mana cost for this card is 8 mana. It has the headwinds ability which reduces the ranged attacks of all enemy units by 1.

Portal Spinner occupied the second position. Of course, it is a neutral ranged attack card. Its ranged attack has a power of 2. It also has 1 armor and a health of 3. This speed of this monster is 2. Furthermore, it has the scattershot ability, meaning its ranged attacks hit random enemy targets.

The third position is occupied by Supply Runner. It has a ranged attack of power 2. It also has a health of 4 and an impressive speed of 3.

Aria Bandit occupied the fourth position in my line up. Its ranged attack is power 2. It has a health of 3 and a speed of 2. In addition, Aria Bandit has 2 abilities. It has the Snipe ability. It also has the dodge ability, which gives it a 25% chance of avoiding ranged or melee attacks.

I put the Nimbledook Ranger in the fourth position. This is a neutral ranged attack card with power 1. It has a health of 3. It also has a speed of 3 which I think is good enough.
Nimbledook Ranger has two cool abilities. The first is the Snipe ability. The second is the double strike ability, which lets it attack twice every round.

The Pelacor Arbalest occupied the last position. It has a ranged attack of power 2. Its speed is 2 and it has a health of 2. Furthermore, it has the double strike ability as well.

My opponent's line up was similar with few differences. It was made up of Prunda Undervesch as summoner, Anachron Bolter, Portal Spinner, Sultry Barmaid, Supply Runner, Aria Bandit and Pelacor Arbalest.

The battle was a keenly contested one. My tank came under heavy attack in the first round but survived it, thanks to it's health and the healing from my summoner. By round 2, I was able to take out 3 of the enemy units, which includes the tank. My tank was also eliminated.

By round 3, I took out the remaining 3 of my opponent's units without losing any more of mine.
While picking my line up, I was sure to pick more monsters with ranged attack of up to 2, and that was instrumental in my winning the battle.
