Is The Time To Buy NOW???

With the current card market the way it is, as a newer player I have been seriously looking at various cards in a effort to increase my overall power to compete at higher leagues while renting less power so that i can invest the left over DEC from rentals into my own more permanent assets; instead of lining the pockets of others.
Now i'm not saying that rentals are a bad thing and yes they are a necessary evil, but i believe in this game and enjoy playing it, so for me reducing my dependance on others ... like not having to stress over if my current rental power is going to get pulled before end of season on me.

Rummaging through card abilities i found that only 3 cards offer you a beautiful advantage for silver and that is having both the shield and void ability.

1. Lord Arianthus - at the time of writing this $130 each at legendary

Good now, but once modern and wild format are split, he is only usable in wild which is going to limit his value a bit.

1. Chain Golem - $261 and Legendary

Not only is he legendary, you need three to get that combination and i saw a couple on the market for a tidy $550 for the level 2 (3bcx). Usable in both wild and modern formats, but that is a HEAVY cost with the current market you could buy a fair chunk of cards and boost power higher.

1. Onyx Sentinel - $4.50 and Epic

Personally I think this one is a hidden gem so to speak; and yes EPIC. Since he is reward, he is now out of print, so what ever is on the market is all that will be. At 10 to make him the level 3 required for this combination of abilities that is only around $45, not even 10% of what the chain golem would cost you. Now yes he is just a meat shield with 1 speed and 7 hit points, but at 5 mana that is, in my opinion, a bargain to halve ALL damage coming at him no matter what your opponent is going to throw at you. Since he will also be useful in both wild and modern formats, I don't expect that his price will stay this low forever, and maybe he could become a meta tank unit since he is neutral and can be played with EVERYTHING.
