Weekly Battle Challenge: Dragons!

(Edited)

This week's Battle Challenge promotes the Dragon element - a wildcard element capable of battling together with any other element. I'm sure many of you came across an opponent whose last 5 battles included only Dragons mixed with various other elements, using a wide range of tactics and being unpredictable. That is the real power of the Dragons.

In the battle shared below, I'm using Quix the Devious, Dhampir Infiltrator, and Naga Assassin with Life element.

My Team:

Quix the Devious is the only summoner I have available at maximum level, and it's the summoner I use as often as possible because speed manipulation coupled with the ability to use any card is simply amazing. On top of that, he offers a decrease to the opponent's ranged attack, which adds even more utility to the card.

Pelacor Conjurer is a low mana tank that relies on high speed and flying to avoid melee and ranged damage. He is capable of avoiding magic damage at the highest level when Phase ability is unlocked. The divine shield adds to the card's overall survivability, making the first successful hit deal no damage. On top of all of that survivability, Magic reflect punishes magic damage opponents that managed to hit the Conjurer.

Venator Kinjo was auto-included in this ruleset because of the Reflection shield ability which protects the rest of the line-up from blast damage. On top of that, Slow adds another point of speed manipulation and adds to the Conjurer's survivability.

Soul fiend is the filler card that is here just to take a hit for free. At the maximum level, it provides another point of speed manipulation which can change the course of the battle.

Dhampir infiltrator is the sneaker that I decided to bring in this battle. Double strike coupled with blast makes it deal 6 damage per turn for 4 mana. On top of that, Affliction prevents healing done on the backline by Triage which can be annoying.

Venari crystalsmith is the Life element's little league healer with decent ranged damage for its mana cost. But healing is not everything it does. Crytsalsmith has additional supporting capacity in Dispel ability which removes any positive effects from the target. With a recent update, it can remove even the feared Bloodlust buff.

At the rear position is the Naga assassin. A fast monster that punishes opposing sneakers every time they miss. She brings 2 ranged damage for 2 mana and provides another point of speed manipulation.

Course of the Battle

Turn 1

After all the speed manipulation between Quix, Venator Kinjo's slow, and Naga Assassin's swiftness, Pelacor Conjurer's speed is increased to 6, while the opponent's whole team is at 1 speed. That means that Pelacor Conjurer has a 75% chance to evade all of the attacks.

Turn 2

Queen Mycelia was the only monster that managed to get a hit on Pelacor Conjurer, but Divine shield blocked the damage. The opposing team's frontline Xenith Archer? was defeated, and the Dhampir infiltrator did some decent damage to the backline.

Turn 3

Pelacor Conjurer once again avoided all of the attacks, and the opposing team's defeat is closing in.

Turn 4

This is the last turn of the battle, and Doctor Blight will be killed before he gets a chance to miss Pelacor Conjurer once again.

Battle Rewards

Conclusion

In this battle, I used a deadly Dragon combination of Quix the Devious and Naga Assassin which provides 2 points of speed manipulation. Additional Slow was provided by Venator Kinjo, which in the end made my frontline tank unhittable with a 75% chance of missing.
