A Funny Computer Repair Experience
Just yesterday, i was all alone in the house and bored when i remembered the funny experience i had with a customer months ago while I was still working under my boss.
Then i just finished learning how to repair computers after many months of learning. I had already started repairing computers with minor issues and I was so happy with how far I had gone with computer repairs. I was so happy and eager to make use of the knowledge gained to solve daily, computer issues brought to me. According to my boss then I was free to leave and become a boss on my own since I had learnt the necessary skills needed, but then I refused to quit working under him because I knew there was no limit to how far I could learn, besides his method of approach towards repairing made me always marvel he was definitely that good because he had been in the business for a very long time...of course the unique approach towards computer issues is what distinguishes a new engineer from an old one lol.
Well, this particular day came when a customer came to our workshop with his laptop, which had a minor issue basically I just needed to change a faulty IC(Integrated Circuit) and the laptop would work again...But then the customer was so worried about giving me his computer based on the fact that he knew I was not the owner of the workshop, well that wasn't the first time I will experience that...most customers meeting me for the first time were always afraid, but at the end they were always satisfied with what I gave them so I felt that was also going to be the case of this particular customer. I told him "Sir, don't worry i can handle this besides my boss is here to supervise me". The customer refused bluntly at first, but eventually gave me a chance....he handed the laptop to me and sat on one of the chairs in the workshop. I was excited to work on the system immediately and to prove to him that I could work on his laptop...I carefully loosed all the screws on the laptop, and opened up the laptop...
I carefully examined the system motherboard. As I began to work on the system, my boss checked up on me once in a while, to ensure I was still on the right track I was so grateful to have learnt from Such an experienced technician I noticed the man( the customer) was really worried he couldn't help but think something bad was going to happen...he finally stood up and walked up to me and ask if he could stand beside me and watch 😅😅 I was ok with him watching me although I was nervous working beside him because I didn't want to mess things up or embarass myself in front of him. Well, I continued regardless, and the customer watched me in amazement. He was surprised at how well I handled his system. He soon began to gain trust in me, and became less nervous. Suddenly, something bad and yet funny happened the customer after seeing how I handled the system became over confident, and felt it was something he could do himself...he told me to handover the soldering iron which I was using to work
I refused at first but when I noticed the man began to raise his voice I just gave it to him(at least the laptop was his😅)...not too long after, he started poking around inside the laptop. My boss watched in horror. I even tried to caution him but he was too adamant. Shortly after, the laptop began to emit a very dark smoke...in fear, the customer quickly unplugged the laptop, but it was already too late. The man looked at me and my boss with a face of defeat which was somehow funny to me...I wanted to laugh at what had just happened😂😂 but then i knew doing that at that particular time, wasn't the right thing i really felt for the man too after he said "I'm sorry I don't know what happened i thought i could do it myself" I and my boss tried our best to revive the laptop but the system at that point was now beyond repair.
Feeling frustrated, the man left our workshop that day with his half roasted laptop...it was like a complete waste of effort for me my experienced boss knew how frustrating it could be so he bought me lunch that day I was so grateful for his act of kindness and that made me even more determined to keep practicing and perfecting my skills while the customer on the other hand bought another system from us this time and requested that we install some softwares for him...I was the one to do that again because my boss was really occupied. I looked at him thinking he was going to reject me handling the system again 😂😂...seems like he also understood my eye language he then said " Don't worry do it i have learnt my lesson"😂😂 me and my boss couldn't help but laugh.
I'm very sure the man learnt his lesson that day his system caught fire.
This left me with a conclusion that sometimes, even if you're confident in your abilities it's best to leave things to the experts.
Wowwwwww 😲
A master in a field should always be trusted.

Very true lol😅...thanks for also engaging with mine😁❤️
Handling a laptop or PC can be hectic, I've got decades of experience handling such devices, but even to this day I get nervous haha. I'd rather have a pro handle the work, because I'm no technician or expert. I'm just a noob who has above average knowledge about such devices.
Yeah sure they are more experienced and familiar with computer generally 😁... thanks for reading!!👊
You are welcome. 🥃
This killed me!! This is such a funny yet telling story. It is a great one honestly and I enjoyed it!
Lol😂...thanks for reading 💪👊
This should also be posted in the Comedy Open Mic community because it's quite a hilarious experience. It's giving barber's apprentice kind of rejection. Just imagine the audacity of this man. I'm kind of happy the laptop got bad in his own hands Sha. And I'm curious, did you fix the device he brought?😂

😂😂 yeah I believe most apprentices suffer from this same thing lol...yeah I helped him configure the new system he bought this time he was quite throughout 😂😂 thanks for reading 👊❤️
Ha ha, this is a funny read, let me term him as an oversabi customer, he could have at least allow you finish the work before jumping in, but his over nervousness and confidence took the best if him, it's a pity he learned the hard way.
Yes lol sometimes some customers feel they know more than the technician lol...I just pity them most times when things don't work as they planned 😂😂😭...thanks for reading too😁😁
It is a funny story indeed 🤣🤣🤣, what kind of evil spirit got into the man for him to request for a soldering machine, the part that got me laughing the most is when you said "roasted laptop"🤣🤣, reverse would have been the case if what happened to the laptop was done by you but luckily it wasn't.

Lol😂😂... I'm glad you enjoyed reading the story thanks for stopping by 👋👊
Oh my goodness, I can't believe he thought he could repair his own laptop !LOLZ At least he appreciated in the end that he should leave to the experts (or at least those with more experience) things of which he knows little. !PIZZA !ALIVE
