Who will lead the charge on the NFT Music Marketplace?

It goes without saying that if 2017-2018 was the year of the ICO, then 2021 was the year of the NFT. As an artist and musician, there has been a lot of hype surrounding the NFT and what its eventual role in the industry will be. One thing is for certain, some form of NFTs will eventually dominate the music industry for years to come and we are likely viewing only the tip of the iceberg in terms of their eventual pervasiveness in our lives.

That said, there is a rush happening right now in the space, something I would compare to the internet "streaming" revolution that took place a decade ago. New players are starting to see their opportunity to upend the old guard, and the industrial giants are scrambling to ensure that their position of dominance is not pulled from underneath their feet. Currently, I'm receiving messages and emails from dozens of friends, all claiming to build the next "NFT Music Marketplace" and asking for us to launch our NFTs on their platform. We had videos that went certified viral a few years ago (100 million views+), and so there is a belief that we should mint NFTs of those videos and try and sell that piece of our history to our fans. Indeed it is something that would likely fetch a nice sum for us, and would probably be extremely interesting for our most loyal fans, but who can we really trust to build the best NFT market place and be the platform we drive our traffic to?

In an ideal world, I'd like to use the Hive Blockchain to mint the majority of our NFTs in the future. The success of some of the native NFTs like @punksonhive and @splinterlands on this blockchain and strength of community, plus the fact that there are Zero transaction fees, illustrate that this blockchain is the ideal place for minting future NFTs as a musician. That said, we need to have a front facing marketplace that is dedicated specifically to Music/Video content so as not to get lost in the "noise" as would happen on OpenSea and some of the other NFT Marketplaces. It would be interesting to know if anyone is aware of any developers working on a Music related marketplace here on Hive, and if not, who is interested in starting that development?!
