Installing Metamask - Adding BSC - Importing BlockTunes Wallet to Metamask
Hello everyone. This post is to go a bit more in depth with how Binance Smart Chain is integrated with our site and how Metamask comes into play when dealing with NFTs for both fans and artists.

In that post I go over the fact that when you create an account on BlockTunes, you will be given a Binance Smart Chain wallet that you can use if you have never used Metamask or anything like that before. This wallet does what allot of other wallets do not do and that is show you your NFTs that you own on Binance Smart Chain. It also shows your wallet's BNB, BTD, and bTUNES balances. BTD and bTUNES being the BlockTunes tokens.
Currently functionality on the internal wallet is limited although you will be able to purchase items with BNB from the store using that wallet, and hopefully we can add more BEP20 tokens in the future like BUSD and CAKE... We are working with developers on this.
We will be adding some more functionality into the wallets soon, but for now, if you have never used Metamask before, you can import that wallet to your Metamask extension on your browser or app on iOS or Android.
Metamask is the wallet you will use to interact with the OpenTunes NFT collection as well as the others, whether you are a fan who is purchasing and or reselling, or an artist who is minting NFTs. You will also need it to interact with the BlockTunes DAO.
Be we are here to help guide those who have never ventured into the world of Ethereum or Binance Smart Chain.
Downloading and Installing Metamask
To download Metamask, you will visit https://metamask.io and download the proper extension for your browser if you are on desktop or if you are using mobile, choose your proper operating system, iOS or Android.
Once you have Metamask installed you will be asked to create an account or import a wallet. You will first need to create a new wallet to get a seed phrase to cover any accounts in your Metamask wallet. Then once you have a new wallet created, you can import your BlockTunes wallet. The BlockTunes wallet does not have a seed phrase, only a mnemonic private key. Once you have a new Metamask wallet created, you can then import using the private key.
If you already have metamask installed on your device, you will only need to import the private key.

Connecting Metamask with Binance Smart Chain
To get to your Metamask menu and settings, click the multicolored circle in the top right corner...
Once you have Metamask installed, you will only have access to the Ethereum blockchain until you add Binance Smart Chain. You do this in Settings:
Then you will go to Networks, you may have to scroll down a bit:
Once you are in the Networks pane you will click Add Network
You will be taken to a screen that looks like this...
You will then enter the following information:
Network Name: BSC Mainnet
New RPC URL: https://bsc-dataseed1.binance.org/
or https://bsc-dataseed2.binance.org/ (only use one or the other)
ChainID: 56 (Use 0x38 if 56 doesn’t work)
Symbol: BNB
Block Explorer URL: https://bscscan.com/
At that point you will Save and your Metamask wallet will now be operational on Binance Smart Chain. This can be handy for all kind of DEFI opportunities and even more things that may come with BlockTunes in the future.
Once you are finished you will want to make sure to switch the wallet over to BSC Mainnet
Getting BlockTunes Wallet Private Key
Now that Metamask and Binance Smart Chain are all set up on your wallet
You will need your BlockTunes wallet private key. This can be found in the Wallet section under the My Account dropdown. If you do not see My Account, you will need to Login or Register.
Once you are in the wallet, go to Wallet Management, scroll to the bottom and click on Export Wallet via Private Key, then copy the private key:
You will then be able to go to Metamask, and select Import Account
Then you will see this pane where you will paste your private key you copied from the BlockTunes wallet
This is an overall handy trick to learn about for anyone working with any Ethereum based Virtual Machine chains like BSC or Polygon. This address will work for all those associated chains.
We plan on currently sticking to Binance Smart Chain as it is the largest alternative to Ethereum at the moment.
I hope this guide helps explain some things. Once this is set up, Metamask is actually pretty easy to work with.
