Aggro Light for weekend rank!
Greetings everyone,
For the last two weeks, I have been using control magic in my weekend rank games, although I do like it to some extent, I have been getting around 11 to 14 wins which is pretty decent in general for me but I have been longing to get more at some point and maybe get those legendaries. But after trying for a while it seems that it will be hard to get with the classic control magic deck, because it is not consistent in this meta and have many counters with fast aggro decks.
So I was thinking about what would work best this week, and what deck has many breakthroughs for many situations and has the least counters and that can get me a bunch more wins, so I decided to go with light this week since I have been seeing it doing pretty well in general so I decided to give it a go for this week.
Now Light is one of the gods that I rarely play, so I might have trouble a little bit piloting the deck at first, but after a little bit of practice I think I can get up to 17 wins this week hopefully and get better packs than I usually do. So without further ado, let's see what deck I will be using and talk about it even more in details:
The Deck
As we can see the deck is very aggressive which is pretty normal for Light. Now what makes it even more viable is the amount of protect and war that some of the creatures have, as well as the echoes for these effects that makes it more likely for them to survive and get buffed to dominate the game.
Now as much as I think that this deck is pretty good, I still am missing some cards that I think can make it even better, and I will be showing these and saying why would I think they would make it work better.
Cards I would like to add
Second Vexing vicar
I would really like to have a second copy of this card because I feel with the ward and protected at the same time it makes it so hard to kill and have a lot more change to survive 3 rounds at least, as well as his capability of clearing creatures early game with his protected which can help take control of the game a lot more.
Aggressive Superior
I think this card would make a difference in case the game went on a little long, and at 7 mana if you have at least 2 creatures on board you can make them monsters and end the game this round. I faced this card several times and it screwed me up that's why I want it in my deck.
Thestor, Grieving General
This card is amazing to build up a board especially with the echo that it have that makes you able to build up 1 of the two creatures and make it insanely strong which can help very much take control of things.
Now there are some cards I have in the deck that are not generally used but I think they are very important and game changing and I will be mentioning these cards and talk about them separately:
Important Cards
Excommunicate
This card is not used a lot now but I think it is insanely underrated especially during the frontline and ward meta that we face. Not only it can help you get rid of an annoying strong frontline that you might face, it can also get you rid of warded creature that might cause you trouble which makes it insanely good in my opinion.
Master of Indulgences
This card is also very useful to weaken any annoying frontline you might face, but also makes you have a creatures with good HP that you can buff even more which makes it better than imperious smite to me and that's it has a spot in this deck.
Protective Benediction
Not much people use this card, but I think it is important here to give a more variety of buffing to the deck for all mana spots. Something the perfect timing to buff up your creatures would be the 4 mana spot which makes this card the most cost efficient one as well as having awesome buffing options!
Final thoughts
In general, this deck seems pretty solid if I pilot it well and luck was on my side a little bit I should be able to get 10/18 or more wins this week with the new system which gives me the leggy pack.
The cool thing about this deck is that it has answers to a lot of problems such as frontlines and strength steal and at the same time it has insane potential for board building and ending the game as fast as possible. So wish me luck for this weekend event and I hope everyone will thrive and get wins he wants and I hope you give the deck a try because it is so fun and also a wins grabbing machine!
As always be sure to leave a comments on what do you think about the deck and if you think I should change or add anything to it let me know I appreciate any help! Take care and I will see you on the next one!
Mad Love, Peace out <3
Best of luck! I'd make a few suggestions. Every magic deck you run into is going to be using minimum 8x board clears (2x tracking bolt / Shaped Blast / Unannounced Arrival / Unbound Flames). You need some ward. Sailweaver is a nice 1 mana drop with ward.
Next, I would absolutely run 2x Wrong Path rather than excommunicate. It's useful in many more situations. Note quite as useful for removing a Guild Enforcer (because it just comes down next turn), but I think on net WP is better.
You have a lot of singletons in your deck. I'd consolidate for consistency. For example, run 2x Pacifists instead of 1x Pacifist and 1x Martyr. I think with your comp and aggro focus, Pacifist is probably better.
Anyway, those are just my thoughts. Hope you have a solid weekend ranked!
Thanks for the suggestions ill be surely taking them in mind
