Weekend Walk - Rosetta Canyon Sports Park, Lake Elsinore, CA
Good day, People of Hive!
Today, I would like to share with you my morning walk at a Sports Park (and Dog Park) near where I live! This will also be an introduction of my amazing pet, Zinfandel, to the Hive World! She just turned 4 about a week ago!
Daily Routine
Almost every weekday, I wake up at 5am, and begin my mornings with drinking water, brewing coffee, and a 30-minute walk on my walking pad while either scrolling through PeakD or playing Splinterlands. (Thank God for standing desks!)
I hit the local gym at around 6am and do strength training for about an hour. Shortly after that, I head back home so start my morning walks with Zizi.
As soon as we get home, I get ready for work. I'm so fortunate I got the opportunity to work remotely as the company I work for is based in Santa Clara. I just need to visit the office for a few days every month or so.
Walking around the Sports Park
Today is a Saturday so my morning routine was a little bit different: same stuff as my weekday mornings, except I skipped the gym to give myself a rest day.
After my walking pad session, it was time to take Zizi out for a stroll. It was a chilly morning but just comfortable enough to wear a jacket while being outdoors. We usually take 3 loops around the park, totaling to about 3000 steps when you include the distance I walk from my place of living.

It was a great time to be outside! A bit gloomy but I prefer the cooler weather over the warmer ones. Everyday we walk by the the football/soccer field, the softball fields, and the basketball courts. About halfway through our 3rd and last loop of the day, I decided to reroute to the nearby dog park to make sure Zizi gets to play for a little bit.
Zinfandel at the Dog Park
When my lady and I first got Zizi, she was only 8-weeks old. We used to live in the Bay Area at the time and it was during the height of Covid when Zizi started living at our place.
She is very timid around other dogs even after taking her to nearby dog parks to learn to socialize. It got better over time but I know we still have some work to do. Little by little!
She is very playful and friendly around people but with other dogs, she needs to warm up to them first. She becomes less anxious after realizing that they are friends and would be excited to see them again next time they meet!
This Dog Park is very small compared to what we were used to when Zizi was a bit younger. We have looked around the City and found other parks we can take her to. I have yet to see a dog park here that's full of dogs! Maybe it's just my timing that's off. We'll see.
Two bigger dogs eventually arrived but they stayed in the "Big Dog" section of the park. Zizi immediately got curious and wanted to check on them. The two dogs were friendly, too, and I'm glad Zizi did not feel intimidated by them.
After a few minutes, Zizi went back on to investigating and just sniffed around to see what else is out there.
I can tell she had some fun out there even if there was minimal interaction with other dogs.
We spent about 20 minutes at the dog park before deciding to leave. We headed straight back home so she can get her water and eat her breakfast and prepare for the rest of the day!
Final Thoughts
This is our routine every weekend! If we know we are going to get brunch somewhere (sometimes my lady craves Filipino food!), we take Zizi to a different dog park. I still take her out for morning walks, though! It's very important to get your pets some daily exercise!
What about you? How do you start and go about your weekends? Any dog park or brunch spot recommendations in our area? Let me know your thoughts!
