Synergy: Earth Splinter Magic Units! A Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge Entry
Introduction
Hi Praetoria! Welcome to another edition of the Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge brought to you by The Jedo! Link to the challenge HERE.
This week, we will discuss the synergy between Earth Splinter cards: Immortalis, Blackmoor Nymph, and Goblin Psychic!
This combo is extremely effective in Wands Out rulesets or when you are expecting to go up against a magic-oriented lineup.
Preface
I currently play in Modern Diamond League and usually hit Champion 3 closer to the end of the season. For Brawls, I play in Wild Gold Frays so the meta is somewhat different. For the purposes of this week's challenge, I will share battles I encountered during my previous Ranked Play grind!
Synergy Analysis
Immortalis
Immortalis is a Legendary Earth Summoner from the Chaos Legion Set. His kit includes a -1 Health deduction to your opponent's units while granting your own units the Void and the Shatter abilities, perfect for rulesets where you expect magic damage from the opposing team.

Blackmoor Nymph
The other "key card" we are discussing today is none other than Blackmoor Nymph, a magical unit from the Rebellion Set.
This unit can either be used as a backline attacker or even as a low-mana tank. This unit's Immunity is especially helpful during matches where you expect Poison, Affliction, or Cripple from enemy attacks. Enemy Silence debuffs also do not affect units with Immunity.
The battles I will share with you will show how effective this card is as a cheap tank in 1st position especially when combined with the abilities that Immortalis can grant.
But if I use this unit as a tank, how can I ensure its survivability? I don't even have a maxed copy.

Goblin Psychic
Enter Goblin Psychic, the last card in this killer trio of Earth units!
This magical unit has a great set of abilities: Tank Heal, Affliction, Silence, and Dispel. It's a must have during an all-out magic battle like Wands Out rulesets or any other ruleset where you can predict your opponents will utilize magic units.
Not only can Goblin Psychic sustain your tank, he can also debuff enemy units rendering them unable to be healed. Another useful ability is Silence, lowering enemy magical attacks by 1. This ability stacks, too!

Synergy: How does this work?
With Immortalis as your summoner, you are already guaranteed protection from magic attacks via the Void ability. Blackmoor Nymph will be in 1st position, holding the fort and ready to absorb magical damage hurled towards your way. Goblin Psychic will support the Nymph by healing but also ensures damage sent your direction are reduced via Silence.
Let's see some examples!

Featured Battle 1
Rules of Combat: High Five, Wands Out, and Tis but Scratches
Mana Cap: 34
Active Elements: Earth, Life, and Dragon
Strategy: A tank with Void and a support crew with Silence and Heal abilities. I also needed Immunity so that my units' health do not diminish with every successful hit from the Cripple ability.
The three-card-combo is perfect for this matchup!
Blackmoor Nymph as a low mana unit with decent health plus Immunity, and, with Immortalis' abilities, Void, which makes her stronger against magic attacks!
My supporting cast consisted of Goblin Psychic (the third card of the combo) with Tank Heal and Silence, Nalara Geinek, another unit with Silence, Fizbo, and Dr. Blight.
I placed Fizbo between Goblin Psychic and Dr. Blight to protect them (Deflect) from Magic Reflect in case my opponent played a card with that ability.

Please watch the battle below to see what a tank looks like! 😉

Featured Battle 2
Rules of Combat: Wands Out, Unprotected, and Counterspell
Mana Cap: 28
Active Elements: All but Life and Death
Strategy: Same approach.
A tank with Void and a support crew with Silence and Heal abilities.
I also needed protection from the Counterspell Ruleset.
I used the same three-card-combo for this battle. Fizbo was extremely useful in this situation due to his Deflect ability.
Same with Thunderhoof Nomad with its own Deflect. The Triage ability was also critical in this matchup since I couldn't guarantee protection from Magic Reflect for all of my units.
Similar to the first featured battle, Blackmoor Nymph stood strong as a tank for the duration of the match.
It would have taken longer than it seemed like due to the same Immortalis + Fizbo play my opponent had chosen but I ended up ahead because of my Dr. Blight's Poison and Blackmoor Nymph's Immunity. This meant the Nymph is unaffected by Affliciton, Silence, and Poison, in case this was present on the opposing end of the battlefield.

Summary
There you have it, folks! Two awesome battles featuring three amazing cards from the Earth Splinter! Plenty of different ways in utilizing these cards and this combo is usually my go-to in magic-only rulesets.
The synergy between the three is just undeniable! Add more support and/or damage units from the Earth and Neutral Splinters and you are sure to further expand the possibilities of maximizing the potential of these cards! I didn't even need a maxed copy Blackmoor Nymph!
Final Thoughts
Playing this auto-battler game is so much fun! I have to say, though, that I did not discover this combo. I have seen lineups like this used against me before and I've always wanted to try it myself own. It's super effective!
I understand that I still have so much to learn and so many other card combinations to explore. Some of my strategies might have worked because of luck or RNG. Some might actually be good plays that other players can learn from.
Either way, I hope you guys enjoyed this article and if you have questions, comments, or feedback for me, please let me know! Let's all learn and grow together and set each other up for success! Vonak! Together We Thrive, Kapamilya!
