Splinterlands Virtual Real Estate Updates: Shadows In A Bottle - Midnight Potions

The journey never ends!
Along with my quest to encourage others to acquire land in Praetoria is my own personal goal to keep accumulating more.
Today, I just reached 300 plots! Huge milestone since over 2 years ago, I only had 12 plots to begin my Land journey!

Over the past two weeks, I have accumulated over 57,000 DEC by swapping resources. The proceeds went to the acquisition of more plots! I even spent some Credits just to finally reach this milestone!
My excess Grain went to the LP. Consider these as my weekly deposits.

Earlier this week, Splinterlands has begun the PRESALE of its newest set: Conclave Arcana!
Another thing that was announced recently is the upcoming introduction of Midnight Potions into the game! In case you missed it, you can find the article HERE.
We will discuss the steps I have taken this week to prepare for this momentous event and what other things I have planned for in the near future.
Have I changed my mind regarding participation in the presale? Am I sticking to the plan and acquire more land? Am I preparing for what's to come?
Read on and find out!
Title Transfers: Closing the Deal
I have mentioned in one of my previous posts that I had to make the hard decision to let go of some plots that I have had since the beginning and some of the ones I have obtained early on in hopes of building and acquiring more in that region.
When I came across the opportunity to own the majority of a new tract, considering other players I am friends with were already acquiring parcels of land in that same location, I knew I had to be involved, too.
I wanted to be part of this new community we are building.

My deal with @emakulator has finally concluded. Even though I still have 50 plots in Region 114, Tostrington, my focus is now in a different region.

Community Expansion: Opening the Gates
Not only are we celebrating my total acquisition of 300 plots, I am also excited to announce that more members of Team PH community have been welcomed into our tract!
@mochilub is now a proud owner of 10 plots and @sudeon has upped his holdings from 1 to 3 plots!

The question remains:
Who will be the next Land Baron / Baroness?

Will it be you?
Revisiting The Previously Purchased And Developed Land Plot. Again.
Continuing where we left off after purchasing and developing a single land plot in a region not so far, far away, let us see where we are at after 2 weeks of harvest. (previous post HERE)
We still had about 663 Stone we can use to obtain Grain via the Trade Hub.
Just a week ago, on the 19th of April, I swapped some Stone just to get enough Grain for the harvest:

On the 26th of April, I did the same steps:

We now have around 1,300 Stone in this region. Expect that the following weeks of harvest will be the same if I continue this experiment.
This proves that even without owning a grain plot, there is no need to panic. You’ll do just fine!

Sure, owning a grain-producing plot would be more convenient but it is not that hard to utilize the Trade Hub to get exactly the resources you need.
I bet a lot of players will be doing this anyway since they will need other resources to produce the new land resource Aura.

Oh, by the way, I acquired more plots in this region, too! I recouped some of the costs from my land earnings from the past 2 weeks as mentioned earlier!

A New Era of Land-Based Crafting: Midnight Potions
Splinterlands recently published an article about Midnight Potions and I have to say, this got me more excited than the Presale of the new set.
“Harness the Shadows. Craft the Power.”

Part of this week's CHALLENGE is to discuss the following. This section of my article will cover Items 1 and 3.
Item 2, I am also excited about, albeit to a lesser extent.
💡 Challenge Prompts:
What are you most excited about with the release of Conclave Arcana?
Any card art, lore teasers, or abilities you're hoping to see?
How do you think this set will impact your personal strategy?
Crafting Midnight Potions. This is what I am most excited about with the release of Conclave Arcana.

Regarding my personal strategy, I had previously asked myself the following:
Is it time to reactivate my Shard Mines? What about converting some Research Huts into Aura Labs to create Midnight Potions?
Do I stick to the plan where I just harvest natural resources and keep providing liquidity?
How will the new set affect the exchange rates of Land resources?
Do I buy packs during the presale and join the raffle?
I still want to play the Card Game. How do I keep up with the New Modern?

My decision? Dedicate my Epic Magical plot to harvest Aura.
This way, I can craft a daily supply of Midnight Potions.
I moved things around, workers, totems, and titles, in order to make the most of what I have, in preparation for the upcoming addition to the Land ecosystem.

Shown above is the best of the best of my owned assets bundled together to produce maximum value.
It is currently producing Wood but will eventually be converted to an Aura Lab come the new update. It will also get bonus boost since it's a Magical Plot.
100% Bonus production applies on Magical or Occupied plots.
I wish this plot of land is within my Keep's boundaries but I can't have it all, I guess. I'm happy to provide free Aura via taxes to the Keep owner of this tract.

Neat!
As we already know, harvesting SPS from Shard Mines and Research from Research Huts now require not only Grain, but all other resources as well.
The requirement also applies to the Aura Lab.
🔨 But production is just the beginning—Wood, Stone, and Iron will also be required to generate SPS & Research. The consumption rates will match the production rates, meaning that when you harvest SPS or Research:
Every 1 base Production Point spent per hour toward production will consume
- 0.005 Wood
- 0.002 Stone
- 0.0005 Iron
To put this into perspective:
💡 If you have a 5,000 Production Point Research plot, you'll need an equal amount of Wood, Stone, and Iron production to match it (along with enough Grain) to be fully self-sufficient.
My dedicated Aura Lab plot has 51,500 BASE PP. Per the images below, I can cover the Wood and Iron requirements within this Region.
Where do I get Stone?

Well, via the Trade Hub, of course!
Luckily, I have an abundance of Grain in Region 50. I can also swap Iron instead, in case I need to keep my Grain.
I can even use DEC to purchase the required Stone!

If that wouldn't work for whatever reason, I can look to my community tract in Region 46 where Stone is plentiful!

You cannot send Stone directly from one region to another. We have to use the Trade Hub.
I can first swap some Stone into DEC, and then use that DEC to buy Stone into the preferred region.

Using the formula below, we can calculate the amount of Midnight Potions I can craft:
Aura production is 0.0005/hour, the same rate as iron, and crafting a Midnight Potion requires 40 Aura.
(Boosted PP) * (Production Rate) = Quantity of Aura
- 248,600 * 0.0005 = 124.3 Auras
Still need to deduct 10% in taxes so we get: 111.87 Auras per hour.
Calculating for a daily quantity, we get 2,684.88 Auras per day.
Total amount of Potions I can craft daily: 67 Midnight Potions.
That should cover 13 Booster Packs everyday.

Not bad.
Next Steps and Final Thoughts
I have not changed my mind yet regarding participation in the presale.
Yes, the Chase is Real, but I feel like I want to chase something else.
This brings up the question: What am I crafting potions for, then?

There are a few members of my Filipino community who have already bought packs and participated in the presale. The issue here is that they do not have enough land assets to produce their own potions for increased odds of obtaining Black Foils.
This is where I come in.
I'm not only supporting the community by inspiring them to acquire more Praetorian Real Estate. I am also providing them the opportunity to get affordable Midnight Potions.
Who knows, someone might be able to convince me to join in the presale and/or the general sale and I'll end up using the Potions for myself!
Does this mean I will need to convert more worksites to Aura Labs?

I have over 730k Research tokens I have collected since I started gathering resources. I think I can afford to build more labs considering a single permit only costs 10,000 Research.

I will also need to prepare for building and repairing Conflict Wagons. We've been told we need land resources to perform such actions!

Choices, choices, choices. This is exciting.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this article. I hope I was able to provide valuable information and impart some ideas that can help you decide your next steps. I have grown my Splinterlands assets over the years and I plan to keep on building!
Whether you prefer the exhilaration of playing battles, the calmness and idleness of building your digital real estate, or just the fun of collecting these fancy images of collectible cards, I am hopeful that you enjoy your time here in Praetoria!

A lot of choices, great run down on you land actions.
The land baron is challenging title 50 plots fully utilized is also 2,500,000 DEC 😎.
I'm half way building up slowly not all plot fully deployed yet...
Although preferred by many, it's not mandatory to have all plots working. :)
Better to lock in the price of plots during this accumulation phase. Once the price of a single common plot reaches $50 or higher, it will be harder (or much more expensive) to get to 50 plots.
Cheers, bro!
Agree on that part that is/was also my strategy, in the past few weeks i increased from 15 plot to 25....
Only every time i have bought some i want get them up and running as efficient as possible. the 10 extra plot i just bought and told my self only buy the power core and one card to work it. Then with the midnight potions around the corner i pushing them to work harder 😁.
Halfway through becoming a Baron! You're getting there! ;)

Thanks! I hope I'm able to inspire more people to own more game assets.
haha dude I am just ataken again by your enthusiasm on how land here is being played to the fullest by you. Getting other people involved, using the trade hub, buying and experimenting.
And damn, quality posts about it that help others like me make some decisions on what we want to to with our land. Hopefullt the rewards will be plentiful for you, because the journey and the willingness to invest deserves to pay of for you!!!
Thanks for the kind words! As much as I love the other aspects of the game, Land is what I find most interesting.
Likely because I have background in construction and a little bit in real estate! 😅
Picked up my 10th plot today as I wanted to get a grain plot in one of my regions that was missing one before prices get too high, problem I have is my 10 lands are spread across 3 regions so transport costs are a pain, enjoying reading your journey in the land of praetoria.
!BBH
Thank you! I mean, you never know who might be willing to trade for your plots in one region for another, if you prefer to consolidate into one, if not fewer, regions.
I had to let go of my favorite plots in Region 114 just to obtain more in 46. It's a sacrifice I was willing to make for longer term plans. 😁
Good luck on your journey, too. And congrats on your 10th plot! I hope it helps you achieve your goals!
It will be a slow growth for me but maybe consolidation into one region can be done in the future
