You are viewing a single comment's thread:

What is the exact statute and how does it apply to this situation? And when was the last time it was actually applied in a political speech context (or at all)?

My position remains the same regardless: abolish the FCC.

Your hatred for the FCC blinds you to a society of laws.
It applies as he lied about the assassin.
Which is telling lies about a crime.

I believe in freedom, of which government is the opposite.

I think we'd all be better off without the FCC trying to regulate the airwaves.

Not a radical position.

but you can't be an anrachist.
government has to exist in some form.

even tribes had chieftains.

I'm definitely a philosophical anarchist, practical realist/incrementalist.

The less coercion we have in society, the better. Which means as much as possible should be in the non-government/free market sector.

I agree with this.
but there must be law and order.

the only thing that lets women and weak men have a say in the world is the modern civilized world run by law and order.

that breaks down.
burn it all down.

that was my issue with everyone yelling Jimmie Kimmel was freedom of speech.
Nope it was enforcing laws.

you don't like the laws fight in the system and change them.

the ignorance of what laws / regulations you are subject to is no longer excuse.

replied with the FCC regulation and it does not matter if it was ever used before.
The law matters and needs to be applied always.
