Top Battles For The Week

This week I was kinda struggling with what topic on splinterlands to blog about. I know I've said before that there is always something to be excited about every week but this week it seemed different. Instead of letting the week go by without making a post though, I decided to brag about the battles that I would consider my top 3 for the week.

BATTLE 1: Riftwatchers Join The Earth Team

So I finally started to play with a couple of the riftwatchers cards. Since Earth is my favorite element, you bet that I was excited to play some cards belonging to the element. For this battle, these are the cards that I played with:

Here's how the lineup looked like;

Bramble Pixie is a monster that I've really wanted to use. Unfortunately, I can only use her at level 5 without the Heal ability. Still, that 4x melee damage and 9 health is really good for silver.

That is definitely a reach monster that I need. I can't wait to buy that card.

Suidae Shaman, on the other hand, is not a monster that I really like. Actually, I don't like Recharge so much but I really wanted to see the amount of damage that would be done when combined with Giant Killer. I really hoped that would happen in this battle given that it had a 99 mana cap but it did not because Suidae did not get to hit any monsters above 10 mana.

Not what I expected but still, not bad at all.

BATTLE 2: Never Enrage Grund!

We all know that Grund is a really powerful monster to have. He's already powerful on his own but when he gets enraged he becomes the stuff of nightmares for the other side.

In this Brawl, my level 4 Grund was enraged and so his speed and damage were increased to 6x. With the double strike, that's a 12x attack. That's great and all but the reason I am so impressed with Grund in the battle was because he defeated 4 enemy monsters with just 4 hits.

Grund was impressive in this brawl. I only wish I could have used him at level 5 with trample. He would have been really deadly like that.

BATTLE 3: Yodin Sucker

Everyone talks about how Yodin is the best summoner to have ever been released. I agree with that thought but his win rate is obviously not 100%. Sure I get scared when I see an enemy play Yodin but I also feel really proud when I fight and win. Well, that's exactly what happened in this battle;

When I saw that the enemy was using Yodin in the Equalizer ruleset, I thought for sure that my guys would not stand a chance against his blast so I just skipped to results. When I saw that I had won, I went back to watch the battle to see what really happened.

Turns out that my opponent's team consisted mostly of range monsters. That means that every times I killed a monster and forced one to the frontline, he lost some firepower.

Regal Peryton also helped a lot in this battle. His high speed and flying ability helped him dodge a couple of attacks when he got to the front. The dodged attacks also meant that Queen Mycelia was spared from several blast hits.

I still like Yodin and think he is really powerful but you know how life is; you win some and you lose some.
