It's another week for us to share a battle and this time we are not choosing sides. With the Neutral Magi Of Chaos as the theme monster, we are required to pick any summoner from the six splinters to help us defeat our enemies. Let's get right into it...

THE MAGI OF CHAOS

image.png

Magi of Chaos looks pretty bland at first sight but he really is not a bad monster if you ask me. Yes this guy's speed stays constant throughout but his damage and health do not. At level 2 he gets his health to 6 and at level 3 his health goes to 3. At this point, he is a pretty decent monster with 3x damage and 6 health for 6 mana. Still, he gets better with another extra health at level 4 and finally a damage of 4 at max level.

I like his basic stats but Magi of Chaos lacks in the abilities department. He doesn't have any abilities until level 5. Even at that level, he still is not so impressive because he gets Oppress which is not an ability that I personally like so much.

I will use Magi of Chaos at level 3.

Strategy

I need to contain the blast from the other side for as long as possible. At the same time, I need to spread the blast damage from my attacks.

Below is the info of my lineup👇:

SUMMONERimage.png
NAMEKELYA FRENDUL
SPLINTERWATER
EDITIONCHAOS LEGION
RARITYRARE
LEVEL4
MANA COST4
BUFFS+1 SPEED, +1 TOUGHNESS

I choose to use Kelya for two main reasons. Firstly, she will increase the speed of all my monsters increasing the chances of attacking first and doing some initial blast damage. Also, that extra shield may come in handy as a defense both direct and indirect hits.

MONSTER 1image.png
NAMEWAVE BROOD
SPLINTERWATER
EDITIONCHAOS LEGION
RARITYEPIC
LEVEL3
MANA COST8
ATTACK2X RANGE ATTACK
SPEED1X
HEALTH13X
TOUGHNESS0
ABILITIESTAUNT, CLOSE RANGE

I said I wanted to contain most of the blast damage. Well, Wave Brood is just the monster for the job with his Taunt ability. Now, I just need a way to stop the blast.

MONSTER 2image.png
NAMEVENATOR KINJO
SPLINTERNEUTRAL
EDITIONREWARD
RARITYLEGENDARY
LEVEL2
MANA COST2
ATTACK1X MELEE ATTACK
SPEED2X
HEALTH2X
TOUGHNESS0
ABILITIESREFLECTION SHIELD, CAMOUFLAGE, IMMUNITY

I like when I get the chance to use my Venator Kinjo. This legendary vampire may not be able to attack in the second position but his reflection shield will stop most of the initial blast damage.

MONSTER 3image.png
NAMEDEEPLURKER
SPLINTERWATER
EDITIONCHAOS LEGION
RARITYCOMMON
LEVEL5
MANA COST6
ATTACK4X MAGIC ATTACK
SPEED4X
HEALTH7X
TOUGHNESS0
ABILITIESOPPORTUNITY

I cannot play this water team without Deeplurker. With 4x attack and 4x speed, Deeplurker is a pretty fast melee machine. The reason I chose this beast though is because of his opportunity ability. His attacks will spread blast damage across different parts of the other team's lineup.

MANA COST6
ATTACK3X MAGIC ATTACK

HEALTH6X
TOUGHNESS0
ABILITIESNONE AT LVL 3

And now for the star of today's battle; The Magi Of Chaos. As the only Magic monster on the team, it makes sense to place the guy in the fourth position. His 6x life also means he can take some hits from a snipe if Wave Brood gets taken out.

MONSTER 5image.png
NAMEIGOR DARKSPEAR
SPLINTERWATER
EDITIONCHAOS LEGION
RARITYEPIC
LEVEL3
MANA COST2
ATTACK2X RANGE ATTACK
SPEED3X
HEALTH5X
TOUGHNESS0

These days I really like to play Igor because why not. Having 2x damage and 5x health for just 2 mana, I really believe that this guy is underrated. So why not surprise the enemy with a deadly underrated fish man?

Finally, at the back is Supply Runner. "Why Supply Runner?", I hear you ask. Well, because I cannot get enough of the Swiftness ability. Let's see how well it works for this team.

The Battle Highlights

My SplinterEnemy's Splinter
image.pngimage.png

Round 1:

  • The Summoners start with the buffs. Supply Runner grants all my monsters an extra speed.
  • Almost immediately, Deeplurker launches a fatal attack on Serpentine Spy and the blast hits Uraeus and Tenyii Striker.
  • Supply Runner, Igor Magi of Chaos and Wave Brood throw blades and Magic balls at Forgotten One with blast damage hitting Lava Launcher.
  • Forgotten One, Lava Launcher and Tenyii Striker take down the mighty Wave Brood.
  • Uraeus tries to sneak attack Supply Runner but misses.

Round 2:

  • Supply Runner and Deeplurker take out Forgotten One.
  • Igor and Magi of Chaos kill Lava Launcher and Uraeus with direct hits and Blast respectively.
  • Venator Kinjo hits Tenyii Striker but he proves to be too strong and takes out the vampire.

Round 3:

  • With a Melee attack of 6x and a speed of 9x, Deeplurker starts the round with a deadly attack on Tenyii Striker and a very powerful blast that takes out Radiated Scorcher.
    DEFEATED!

Victory!

Slow and steady does not always win the race. The Water team has shown that fast and precise attacks is the way to go sometimes. Maybe Tarsa can learn from this.

Did My Strategy Work?

Divider.png

Yes it did without a problem. Containing the blast with Wave Brood and Venator Kinjo was a good idea. Most of that initial damage may have crippled by team.

Using Tarsa and Supply Runner to buff up the team's speed was also very smart. Some monsters were defeated before they had the chance to do more damage. Also, when Deeplurker became enraged, his speed got to a really deadly level and Tenyii Striker did not stand a chance.

Do I like the Magi of Chaos

Divider.png

Yes I really do. This guy is a monster I use a lot of times especially with Obsidian. Even though I don't get to use the Oppress ability in level 3, I still think Magi of Chaos is a good monster.
