Hey there! Welcome to my entry for this week’s SHARE YOUR BATTLE CHALLENGE. This week we're to tame the most vicious beasts in all of the splinterlands - The Dragons. Who's ready to play with fire?

THE CHAOS DRAGON

image.png

The Legendary Chaos Dragon is a monstrous beast with a fiery appetite. At a 14 mana cost. This guy starts with a damage of 3, speed of 3, toughness of 4 and a massive health of 10!. The stats stay the same as you level except for the damage which gets a single buff at level 4.

As for abilities, This monster starts with the flying and scattershot abilities at level 1. At level 2, he gains the blast ability which is a good combo with Scattershot. Finally at level 3, he gains the ability to Blind the enemy's melee and range monsters.

I will use this beast at level 2.

Strategy

Normally I would focus my fire at the front in the Equalizer ruleset but this time I want to try something different. I want to see how much damage Chaos Dragon's Scattershot and blast can do all round. I also want my tanks to have high dodge chances.

Below is the info of my lineup👇:

SPLINTERDRAGON

MANA COST4
BUFFSPHASE

What better way to face my foes than with the new Dragon summoner? Sthispa is a summoner that I really like because of the phase buff and the fact that she can be used with any other splinter. Let's see what difference her phase buff makes in this battle.

ABILITIESTRAMPLE, ENRAGE

To increase my dodge chances with Sthispa phase, I decided to use the water element because of their high speed. Diemonshark will serve as a tank and hopefully a good one. It would be cool if the trample is activated but I'm more interested in the enrage ability. The enrage will increase his speed and so his dodge chance as well. A tank that can dodge a lot of attacks is a good tank.

In the second position we have the Torrent Place. For me, this guy is always there to absorb some damage and in this battle, I hope to absorb a lot of damage with him. He will serve as a second tank and given the Equalizer ruleset, he will be a good tank for 0 mana.

ABILITIESFLYING, SCATTERSHOT, BLAST

Now for the Chaos Dragon. I chose this monster particularly because of that scattershot and blast combo. I’m not really a fan of the scattershot ability but the blast can help to distribute some damage around and considering the Equalizer ruleset, I really need that damage.

MONSTER 4image.png

EDITIONCHAOS LEGION
RARITYEPIC
LEVEL3
MANA COST2
ATTACK2X RANGE ATTACK
SPEED3X
HEALTH5X
TOUGHNESS0

With just 2 mana left to fill up, I decided to play Igor and so I put him in the fourth position. I’m going to need as much damage as possible and with the Equalizer ruleset so why not.

MANA COST6

ABILITIESSWIFTNESS

I really want to make my monsters as swift as possible. To help with that, I added Supply Runner to the lineup. His swiftness will increase the speed of all the monster and so their chances of attacking first and the dodge chances.

SPLINTERWATER
EDITIONCHAOS LEGION
RARITYEPIC

MANA COST8
ATTACK2X RANGE ATTACK

ABILITIESTAUNT, CLOSE RANGE

Of course I was going to use Wave Brood. This team would be incomplete without him. With Taunt, Wave Brood will draw all the enemy’s fire from the rest of the team especially from the tank. That is, unless of course if the enemy has a Scattershot.

The Battle Highlights

image.pngimage.png

Rounds 1-2:

  • The summoners start with their buffs. Supply Runner increases all my monsters’ speeds.
  • All the enemy’s back line monsters attack Wave Brood until the enemy’s supply runner takes him out.
  • The Diemonsharks battle it out in the frontline.
  • My Supply Runner and Igor throw blades at the enemy’s Diemonshark.
  • Chaos Dragon fires randomly at Merdhampir and Diemonshark with blast hitting Supply Runner and Oshannus respectively.

Rounds 3-4:

  • My Diemonshark destroys the enemy’s after getting enraged and then tramples on Oshannus but he survives.
  • Chaos Dragon shoots randomly at Oshannus and Merdhampir causing blast damage on Magi of Chaos and Supply Runner respectively.
  • My Supply Runner takes down the mighty Oshannus.
  • The enemy’s Supply Runner kills my Diemonshark forcing Torrent Fiend to the frontline.

Round 5:

  • All the enemy’s monsters ruthlessly attack Torrent Fiend until Magi of Chaos takes him out.
  • Supply Runner and Igor focus their attack on Magi of Chaos
  • Void Dragon fires a random shot at Supply Runner before being forced to the front. Of course his blast hits DeepLurker and Merdhampir.

Rounds 6-10:

  • The remaining enemy monsters attack Void Dragon but in the end they barely do much damage to his health.
  • Igor takes out Magi of Chaos.
  • Void Drago burns Deeplurker.
  • Supply Runner fatally slashes his evil lookalike.
  • Finally, Igor delivers the final blow and takes out Merdhampir.
DEFEATED!

Victory!

And the new Dragon Summoner proves herself to the entire Splinterlands by defeating Kelya and her minions. Let this be a lesson to everyone not to get on Sthispa's bad side.

Did My Strategy Work?

Divider.png

Everything worked out fine in the end. Thanks to Wavebrood’s taunt, I was able to preserve Diemonshark and let him do so much damage.

The Phase buff did not work as well as I hoped but it’s not a problem. The increase in speed, however, worked a charm because I was able to increase Diemonshark’s dodge chances significantly. Also, when Void Dragon got to the front, he was able to dodge some attacks given his flying ability and increased speed.

The idea of using Torrent Fiend as a secondary tank was also great. The little guy was able to take so much damage for free. It must have been frustrating for the enemy.

Do I like the Dragons

Divider.png

Just like I have said in the past, I don’t really like the Dragon element as other people do. Sure the monsters are cool but I just have not used them so much. Also I don’t have a dragon summoner. However, with the addition of Sthispa, I may begin to use Dragon more often. I really like the summoner.
