PIZZA Scholars' Sixth Harvest

We are back with another round of delgation here on the PIZZA Guild Farms. After a week off to get our affairs in order, the Alpha and Beta classes have jumped right back into the farming routine.

Before we get into my earnings this week, I'd like to touch on a few updates and happenings in the HashKings Universe.

Weekly Happenings

The biggest news this past week was the implementation of Buds staking. This isn't like the way you've staked any of your other tokens. You can't just log into tribaldex and "stake" your buds. No, you need to go to the Bud's staking site where you can swap out your buds for a new token: budsx

How BUDS Staking Work?

Although it may seem confusing at first, the way the buds/budsx system of staking is set-up is really quite an ingenious way to prevent inflation, create a greater need for buds, and utilize other tokens in the hive ecosystem. Let me explain...

On the very first day that staking was offered, you could get budsx by sending buds at a ratio of 0.0011749786328044388. I lost you didn't I? Let's put it another way. If I submitted 1000 buds to be staked, I would receive ~851,079 budsx. Today, just 6 days later, the ratio is 0.0012067878409059304. That same 1000 buds I originally staked is now worth ~1027 buds. A net increase of ~27 buds.

You must be wondering where these magical mysterious buds come from when the pool is suppose to be anti-inflationary? The answer is, unlike other staking rewards which mint new tokens from a reward pool to give to it's stakers, the buds being added to the pool already exist on the market.

Currently on HashKings, you can use a number of tokens in order to do certain activities in the game such a craft joints or buy avatar packs. Up until now, this has worked against buds' tokenomics because the only exclusive way to use buds was by burning them in the MOTA pool. Now with the buds staking system in place, these other tokens are used to buy buds from the market and add them to the buds staking pool. Thus, your share of the buds pool increases, earing you more buds, without minting more to do so. This should in theory also drive up the price of buds, so that you are not only passively increasing your total buds, but those same buds will be worth more as a whole. That's a win-win in my book.

The best part is that the ratio will never decrease, meaning I don't need to trade my budsx to realize the actual growth of my buds. The buds I've earned today will be there tomorrow and the next day and so on. Even if a whale comes in and cashes out their entire budsx holding, the ratio does not change, and my portion of the buds pool remains mine.

This is now my 6th completed week here on the Pizza Guild Farms. Another 15 plots have be delegated, planted, watered, and harvested. Let's see how we did this week:

With a new delegation of seeds and land, I've once again decided to front load my biggest yielding seeds, and for good reason. If you read my update on buds staking, you'll realize that the earlier you get into the staking pool, the greater your returns will be over time. So I accept my fate at having a smaller haul later on if it means I'll have better passive income now.

The stash grows! The fields are tended! 70% of these gains goes straight into my pocket. If it isn't clear now, those buds are going straight into the staking pool. Other growth in the game will come. My other plots that I own will be used as "play money". Guild earnings, however, are earmarked for one thing and one thing only at the moment.
