What is MOON?

MOON (Multiplayer Orbiting Optimization Network) is a free-to-play, massively multiplayer online real-time strategy game coming to HIVE. Players start with a single planet and must develop it by building mines to gather resources (metal, silicon, and uranium), constructing buildings, researching technologies, and building a fleet of warships.

The core gameplay revolves around resource management, empire building, and player-versus-player (PvP) warfare. Players expand their empires by colonizing new planets, forming alliances for mutual protection and coordinated attacks, and engaging in combat with other players to raid resources and destroy fleets.

MOON takes some principles of other open-sourced galaxy empire building games and reformats it for the Web 3.0. $PIZZA can be deposited for pizzabits providing new utility for the token while players will also be rewarded with $PIZZA. Let me reiterate though, pizzabits is not a required part of the game and can even be found throughout parts of the game. As I understand it, pizzabits' main utility is to hire officers, which in turn, provides various boosts/bonuses. Does this make the game pay2win? Not necessarily. With resource management being a big part of the game, anyone large enough could soon find themselves a target of coordinated attacks to get to that large stash of resources. In a game like this, sometimes the biggest one wins, sometimes it's the band of pirates, sometimes it's the lone wolf lurking in the shadows.

Gameplay

As mentioned above, this game combines resource management with PvP battling and real-time strategy. I've been given an opportunity for a behind the scenes look at the game, so keep an eye out for some more gameplay features in the next couple days. But from what I've gathered thus far, this game will be massive. Resource mining, buildings, energy production, tech research, ship and fleet production, battling, alliances. Who has what it takes to rule the cosmos?

The best part for someone like me? The game works and looks great on mobile! I'll try and post side-by-sides of desktop vs mobile in my next post.
