Unlocking the True Value of Money: From Liability to Asset
I was once told by my mother one day that we do not value what we have until we lose them. This statement said by her got me mind worried because it was a bit difficult for me to comprehend. As time goes by, I was made to understand that what she was initially saying was for me to value everything I have within my capacity, be it something that is very infinitesimal or something profound.

In a word, what I am driving at is that money is always a visitor to everyone on this earth; it never stays with us for too long. Whatever you use it for will determine the length of time it will stay with you. But do you know, money can actually come to you and still leave you that same minute if not managed well? I think most people seem to be forgetting this.
I was in a conversation with a friend in my vicinity, and we were discussing what he plans to do whenever he gets hold of a huge capital. Immediately he asked me, I waited a bit but without stressing it, I said I was going to invest in different things which I know will yield income for me in the long term and possibly do a quick capital investment which will provide an instant cash out for me also.
I directed the same question to him also. Without any hesitation, he said he was going to buy a car. I laughed immediately and said, a car?? But do you know a car is never an asset but a liability? I had to make him know this, but it later occurred to me that our priorities about life and finance are different compared to one another. What bothers me about life might be what will please others, and so we have to tread with caution.
As we continued in our discussion, I had to call him and ask him why he decided to go for a car instead of investing in his future. He said he was going to impress some of his friends that had thought he could use a car. I was surprised at the reason behind him using a car, and I said to him the beauty of having money isn't about the amount you have to show forth but instead the amount you have and still hoping that you still have more coming to you and not just you're spending what you have in the place of liability.
When you do not invest, liability sets in, and when liability sets in, you will find it so hard to cope with life because you will never be able to meet up with what life will keep demanding from you just because you have opened yourself to that kind of lifestyle. I could remember having a friend sometimes ago who was still struggling with life; he hardly ate his 3x meal in a day because he was not capable of doing even 2 for the day.
He strived so hard to make sure he got a paying job, along the line he was getting better than before, and his pay cut got bigger and better. After he started earning well, he neglected where he was coming from, thereby thinking that he can do whatever he likes with money. He gives out money to those that need it and even to those that do not need it in the process of getting fame.
Money is never your friend when you don't tie it to something tangible. It's what you own in your name with money that will stand for you anywhere you go and find yourself. It's never possible to have an investment worth a lot of money in your name and then say you are lacking because you will never allow what you have invested in to ruin in your face. This is the motive which I believe everyone who values what life is should always consider because money is never your friend but your greatest enemy if you allow it to control your life.
We are human, and we are meant to control money and control the way we want our life to be with what we have. Always remember that it's what you have you can give and can never give what you don't have, so think wisely.
