Splinterlands - Are My Old Cards Worthless? Playbable?
Wow, Splinterlands inteface changed a lot. I can't even find my old cards on there. I stopped playing for some time. Actually forgot about it. I came across my Splinterlands hoodie in the closet the other day and it jarred my memory. I decided to take a peak and see if my old cards matured in value, and wondered what they're worth. If I researched properly, I'm under the impression the old cards lost all the value?

What Happened to that big gorgeous deck I once owned?
How do I even find my old cards?
I had a bunch of legendary cards too. Seems nothing I have is currently playable. It has to be at least two years since I even thought about that game.
I stopped playing because the game seemed like it was turning into a "money grab". I get it, it's a business. Regardless, I would have thought they would have kept the older cards playable or offer legacy leagues or something. Am I missing that? Are the older cards even playable?
Like everything crypto I built my deck by playing and trading . My only real investment is time and imaginary internet money. Still, I thought my old decks would be worth something.
If anyone is interested in my old card sets let me know. I had some real gems in there. A lot of time, and a lot of imaginary internet monies went into those decks. 🤣 I kind of expected as much, but really felt the creators would have worked to maintain the values of those older cards.
Now I'm actually glad I stopped playing when I did.
Any thoughts on older cards? Should I just write them off as a loss? Any use? Any way to play them in game? Spent a lot of time and money for them to be absolutely worthless to me. That would kind of suck!
If anyone can answer any of these questions, I'd love to hear your thoughts. I'm not crying, I'd just like to know if the cards are worth anything or playable.
There's multiple ranked formats now. Cards older than the newest two sets are playable in the WILD format but you will need a season pass that cost 2000 DEC to play in WILD.
Cards are stake-able on land with older cards having bigger benefits to doing so.
I know nothing about guild cards.

What are you looking for the whole collection?
There are a few decent cards still in there from the older set?
I don't really need them but if you want to clear the whole lot together it could be quicker.
Sorry for the late reply. I haven't been online as much lately. Make me an offer? I really have no idea what they're worth. Actually just logged on now to try to figure out some Hive related and Splinterlands related stuff. What do you think they're worth? Or what would you be willing to pay as a fair price?
In theory they are worth probably $400 - $500. There is a gold manticore that is skewing the prices.
That's if you sell them all individually and go for lowest market price and happy to wait a good few months to sell.
The biggest problem with them is the random base card numbers so a lot of them will need more cards bought to level up.
With the way crypto is dropping right now it's not a great time to go shopping as your losing a lot more than a week ago to dollar prices.
I would probably have said $250 a few days ago for the quick sale but at hive prices today i'm not as eager to spend it right now.
But if you want to suggest a hive amount that you find fair i would give it some thought.
Or just start listing them on the market and see what you can get there.
I appreciate your honesty. I was thinking the same thing about crypto prices right now and I probably couldn't pick a worse time to sell these. I think I'm gonna wait a bit, I'm hoping we see one more nice bullish run before crypto winter sets in. Let me think about it a bit, and when I decide to let them go I'll send you a message or drop a reply in one of your posts and give you first crack at them. Appreciate ya! Thanks.
No worries.
I don't really need more cards but when i saw the post i said i might as well pick them up if it made sense.
Let me know if you do decide to shift the whole lot but there is no panic.
I hope that we do see one good run before winter is over and we will all be happy. It's been a depressing month for crypto.
Good luck,
Hey dood! feels like it's been ages since I saw you posting! So glad to actually read something from you again.
I've stopped my social media. Hive and Instagram are the only accounts I still check on every so often. Thanks for stopping by. Always a pleasure!
