RE: The Things I Have Learnt From Hive
You are viewing a single comment's thread:
Curation rewards are very simple.
For example: I just upvoted your post. I just clicked the little heart at the bottom of your post and....
Notice how it has the .004 hive reward? I'll get 0.002 and YOU will get 0.002. We both win if I upvote your content.
But I can't upvote everything all the time because I only have so much "upvote mana" and since I've liked a lot of posts today its down to 88.79%
It goes up over time so I'll always get it back. Ideally you use it up by 10-20%, wait for it to recharge, then repeat. That way you are always getting more and more rewards by upvoting other people's posts.
Horray! You win by engaging with other people.
But.... Sometimes you are too busy to vote on people's posts. Then you are losing out on possible income! Never fear you can let someone else vote for you. That's called delegation. If you were to look at my wallet you would see this:
I have 400 Hive Power (HP). Then you see a -150HP. I've delegated that to #HivePakistan. The 250HP remaining is what I have left to upvote people.
So. For the 250HP I have I get 0.004 for my vote of which 0.002 is returned to me (not very much).
For the 150 I sent to HivePakistan I get this:
18x as much for much less Hive Power. It an pay to be part of a group :)
How do you delegate? It is actually really easy:
In my case. I would just click on that 400HP that I have in my wallet and I get two options
I click on delegate and I get this screen
Once I delegate HivePakistan is working for me and after 7 days I start getting regular payments into my account. Easy (and profitable). The hardest part is deciding WHO you want to delegate to. Not everyone has good rewards (or rewards at all!). Also know that it takes a week to get your power back when you decide not to delegate anymore.
As for sending me messages there is a trick (sort of).
If you are making ANY post or reply on the Hive system just put my name @terganftp into the message and I'll get a notice that you mentioned me. I'll then read the message and reply.
Well.... Usually ;)
