It's been so long...

Recently I was on Facebook and I went ahead and commented on a post in an Allen & Heath Mixer page. Someone was looking for a spare part and I made 3 comments in a short period of time. Next thing I knew I was locked out of my account for "Violating community standards on cybersecurity." Basically they want me to add a phone number and upload a photo of my face. These people already know more or less everything on you want some more information. I find it interesting that a person can go and work for one of these large social media platforms only to one day find their entire work has just been 'turned off' for violating some sort of arbitrary community standard.

I had heard of other people getting their accounts locked and wondered what did they do to cause that? It turns out it doesn't take much to get suspended. To add insult to injury, there are hundreds of thousands of bot accounts on facebook and somnehow they can't figure it out that these clearly fake accounts are just that but another account that has been active for years publishing original content which is clearly the work of a human being can get shut down for such a little 'transgression' such as commenting on someones post and trying to help someone can get you booted off the platform in the blink of an eye.

This all circles around back to me having somewhere to share my works. I have been busy working but in my spare time also working on some projects and getting back to learning Blender a free 3D modelling software. I have been messing around with some hardware synthesizers as well. It's funny because you see a piece of equipment and you see what is possible with it and you think that having that piece of equipment will automatically unlock that potential and creativity within you. But it's not quite as simple as that. When you see what is possible in a lot of videos hides all the hours that person spent honing their craft. A lot of times my devices have lain unused for days or even weeks at a time and it bothers me that after all this time I still have relatively little to show for my work (As far as released albums to date, I have none!) But alas I know that this is an all-too-common occurence in this type of space, all playing around but then never getting anywhere with it. But over time with continued input, you do start to see results and when the ball gets rolling it really does get rolling quickly.

So here is to Hive, a place that although isn't completely devoid of it's own issues, it's still attempting something different from the status-quo and for all it's ups and downs since it's inception as a different blockchain in the early days it's still alive and kicking and doing as far as I can tell, pretty well. I've forgotten mostly the tags to use and not sure who even comes around any more but I always did enjoy having another creative outlet. Time will tell if I am able to return here more often but in the meantime here is a couple jams I have made in the past couple years or so.
