Newbie in Splinterlands battle against all the odds

I'm new to Splinterlands.

I mean really really new. I actually started playing just over 2 weeks ago. I signed up back in July 2024 but didn't play due to the fact that I was unwilling to fork out for a spellbook without actually trying the game. The Frontier format gave me the opportunity to play with no cash involved so I gave it a try. The freebie pump worked. Got me a spellbook as a result - thank to all those at inLeo for pumping up the token price 😃

Anyhow there was a post on Hive about a week ago (which I can't find now) which went along the lines of "show us a game in which you won against the odds". Now I've played a fair few games in Modern where I had 705 power and my opponent has had a couple of million but this one, although it is nowhere near as an extreme a power difference, is quite frankly taking the word bizarre to new levels.

This is me as I stand just after the match -

As you can see my highest rank is 34 in bronze which considering that it is for my first ever season (only one) and I didn't start til it was half way through is not so shabby ....or at least to me 😗

And this is the other guy -

Their highest rating dwarf's mine, 3099 vs 940. As for the amount of power they own, not as high as some I've faced, but even so 659k vs 1530. Yeah .....I should be a big splat mark on the wall.

Now I don't have a great choice of cards (lend me some? 😜) - I've also made some major f*%k-ups when renting (chaos card sets aren't playable in Modern you pea-brained chimp) - so I thought that my best bet was -

You'll notice the other guy has a level 4 archon, a unit at level 4 and 3 more at level 2. Mine are all level 1 and even the card we share is outclassed doing more damage.

As an aside you'll notice my paltry amount of SPS, 0.391. I included that in the screenshot in the desperate hope that some kind rich whale with less brains than sense will feel sorry for me and loan my pathetic grovelling ass some.

Anyhow as you might expect it's 3/4 of the way through round 2 and it's 1 vs 5. Me with the 1 😱 ....obviously.

My guy even drops to 1 health when facing 4 other players snd ..... you can guess what comes next .....

I win! No really, I do, I wuz gobsmacked. I imagine you are too. I'm sure you want to see this for yourself. I've already watched it billions of times ......maybe more.

I'm ready to take on any of you peeps on Publish0x now in a challenge. You know who you are @pvmihalache @heruvim1978 @sambtc2 @slobberchops etc. And anyone else who wishes to put a noob in their place.

Just this moment finished a bottle of Johnnie Walker Black. Wanted to try it for years as everyone said it's good, and it is ....good that is. Worth the rep. Just enough Islay in it to make it interesting. No vanilla ... which is great. Really hate one dimensional vanilla whiskies. Wild Turkey 101 - garbage. Just have to get The Black when it is on discount.
