Rise of the Pixels Gameplay Update
It's been just over 12 days since the launch of Rise of the Pixels but it sure does feel like ages ago. This is probably due to the continuous cycle of creating and releasing games that I've experienced. And luck has been on my side this time around as I won a pack from the launch contest.
And from that one pack, I managed to snag my third epic NFT! This time around, it's a developer card, which I presume is highly sought after as it was quickly sold in the market.
Between selling a few NFTs and PXL tokens from the rewards, I managed to recoup my initial investment from the presale. But I'm now left with just the common developers and gears.
And using just common assets led to negative revenue in every release I made. If it was a real game development studio, I would have been driven into bankruptcy at this point. But thankfully, the team decided to separate a prize pool for players that have all common NFTs. This led to one of my games, "Plumbing Garden," to have a positive yield. This update is very significant for me since it allows new players with a few assets to try out and gain a small profit from their gameplay experience.
Asset Market
The floor prices from common dropped a bit to less than a dollar and rares at $3. But surprisingly, the epic cards still maintained a $20 floor with just 15 currently listed in the market. The legendaries are even more scarce with just 11 NFTs posted. This demand for NFTs and the increase in pack sales may very well be indications that the player base is quickly growing.
Featured Game: Fight Yo' Momma
I made a thumbnail art for one of my game creations with a concept that I really liked. The one I featured in this post is Fight Yo' Momma.
This one stemmed from the your momma jokes that went popular a few years back. I suddenly thought if these kids' mothers heard their trash talks, I bet the confrontation would be ugly. So I just went ahead and made it a fighting game where parents would duke it out in the boxing ring.
But since I only used common NFTs, it wasn't received well in terms of sales. I suffered a loss of 15% in the game release, which is not too bad considering my other projects. At least it got a 5.3 out of 10 review.
