Conclave Arcana Incoming
Splinterlands has finally announced the highly anticipated details for Conclave Arcana. There were tons of exciting stuff including new gameplay mechanics and foil card variations. The official post can be viewed here. From what I have seen so far, I can definitely say that Conclave Arcana will shift the modern landscape more so than Chaos Legion. Here are a few things that caught my attention:
New Abilities and Mechanics
There are a total of nine new abilities that are going to be introduced with CA, and I'm excited to see what kind of cards would utilize them. From the get-go, you can tell that Reckless (Each successful attack also deals 1 damage to adjacent allied units.) and Painforge (+1 power when damaged by Poisoned or Burning or hit by an ally.) would have some nice interaction with each other.

CA will also introduce a new categorization of cards by assigning them bloodline types. This will be a significant factor for new strategies going forward. This can also potentially open the possibility for entirely new game modes in the future that focus on various races.
New Packs
Aside from the regular standard pack, three new packs are going to be released, starter, alchemy, and legendary. Tne starter pack is a welcome addition with its one-dollar price. But the problem I have with it is that it has an uncapped supply until the new set release. In my opinion, this will drag down the value of common cards to the ground. It would have been better if they made standard packs $2 instead of having a starter. Alchemy and Legendary packs on the other hand are priced just right since they're more for the high-roller players.
Presale Raffle
Presale events always had a leaderboard for the top spenders. But Conclave Arcana introduces an additional raffle system where every dollar spent on the presale equates to an entry. With this, even the low-spending players have a chance to hit the jackpot. I wouldn't be surprised if the presale sells out within a week of launching with all the attention it's going to get.

SPS and DEC
When Conclave Arcane launches, players would look for sources of DEC in-game. This would likely translate to players pulling out DEC from liquidity pools and land plots. Tons of cards might also get sold or burned. Unfortunately, staked SPS might also be sold for DEC, which will temporarily add selling pressure for SPS, especially since a lot of players profited from Survival mode. But I'm hopeful that the sale of Conclave Arcana would eventually set the SPS flywheel in motion as SPS has been criminally undervalued for such a long time now. Exciting times ahead!
