Into the Splinterverse Episode 86 Conflicts For The Rich So I Might Quit Modern
I want to thank @davemccoy for showing up. This was very last minute, and he stayed for a long time. I wasn't my best, but I do feel that some of the issues that we talked about led us to a better place. I think the system is flawed. I think most will agree with me. Big thanks to @synist3r for having some stats to drive the point home and a level head to help me calm down a few times. I love this game a lot and just feel this was a big mistake.

ya I'm not a fan of what they did to conflicts either but it is what it is. We will be far from the mass appeal if they wanna just make the whales happy. They need to figure out the middle ground where stuff can hold value yet can encourage new players to start and growing their own collection and of course enjoy the game
I watched the episode yesterday (at least the first 20 minutes and parts of it), seeing you bring out perfect arguments, laying them out very structured to the point where I was baffled that there was even an argument about them by dave.
The way I see it, the close community and sense of belonging is really big in Splinterlands, which keeps many on board. The costs however, have been at a point where they are just ridiculous (Post Linkand this conflicts situation pushed things even further.
If they actually want to bring in new players, they should finally start focusing on allowing new players to experience Splinterlands at its most fun level at a very affordable cost. For years it has been focus on the economy keeping existing whales spending at the cost of fun & gameplay while the barrier of entry for new players became bigger and bigger.
From what I understand things changed after your rant and I hope you get all the airdrops you need. It's only fair to get the airdrops at close to max level if you paid for a max level set instead of a couple.
Thank you again @stever82 for having me. I really appreciate the conversation and feel that you helped me to understand a dynamic that I hadn't thought of before. While I know you are still upset, I'm glad we had the discussion. Even if we lose you as a ranked player or even a land player, I want you to know I respect your passion and think you're an awesome person!
Thanks for all you do and have done to help make the game what it is today Steve. I'm working hard and doing my best for the "Stever82s" of the ecosystem, out of respect and admiration!
This is a nightmare honestly, but its just technical enough of a nightmare that it might be easy to pretend it isn't "that bad".
