However if any of these hits sprung to mind from those opening words, you are definitely on the right track because music is definitely in the air as I embark on the exciting job of opening another 12 packs of cards from the epictastical Rising Star game.

In other words, get on with the task at hand Steven.. I'm getting there Dear Reader. However, if you know me, you will be all too aware that brevity is not a skill I have managed to master thus far and a certain ammount of nonsensical rambling is only to be expected.

If you are not playing Rising Star yet, you should be. It turns the traditional onling gameplay model on it's head. It's not 'pay to play', it's 'play to earn', isn't that a revolutionary concept?

Which leads me nicely on to gratuitously shilling my affiliate link for the game.

Well enough nonsense, let's get to it, wish me luck or at the very least cross your fingers for 12 Busterless packs.

If you are unfamiliar with the game, I should point out these are not merely trading cards. Every card is a limited run NFT. That may help you see why this game is only heading in one direction, nope, that wasn't a Harry Styles reference...

PACK 1 TO 3

I am pleased with the Shine card, you could say I took quite a shine to it, although you shouldn't, I love the cards with a good skill to fans ratio. For the same reason I am pleased with Barney, although he is very different to the last time I saw him, not even remotely reptillian and much less purple.

There's a few more instruments in there too, that should help raise the skill level from my music lessons giving my stats a boost, especially the marching drum with it's 50 luck score. Rosanne, Jerome and Dizz, although not fantastic in the stats department, will fill some of those blank spots in my collection.

PACK 4 TO 6

Wow! 2 more Shine cards. Also 2 more Jerome cards but still no Robson, if you're not in the UK or ancient like me, that reference will go down like a lead balloon.

That's 3 Jerome's today already... Could Jerome be the new Buster? If so I'm gonna jump in that rubber dinghy and paddle with all my strength, right this bloody instant!

PACK 7 TO 9

I was quite pleased with those last 3 packs. MC Bruv and Stacey were cards I would have chosen if I could have and I abso-bloody-lutely wanted a Scary Mary, it is October after all, and who doesn't need one more Jet Ski in their life?

PACK 10 TO 12 ALL MY HOPES, DREAMS AND FRAGILE SELF-ESTEEM HANGS ON THE NEXT FEW MOMENTS.

Well, no legendary or indeed epic cards again but with 50 fans and 175 skill, Remy is a fab card to add to the @stevenwood musician management stable of artists. Another Emma is wholly welcome too, her stats are pretty nice. Scary Mary number 2, that sounds like a horror sequel for next Halloween.

Although I love opening the 12 packs of cards, I need to plug some of the gaps in my collection that I may never receive so as I have quite a few thousand Starbits left, let's go shopping. Rezz is one of the final rares I need so without further ado, I snapped him up.

For 39000 Starbits, Rosie's stats seem exceptional so I absolutely could not help myself. Is it just me or does she look a little like Bambi on those roller skates?

For the price, which I thought to be under-valued, I thought today was exactly the time to snap her up.

I am starting to think a little more about trading and strategy now that I have built my collection up to 600+ cards, so I bought a couple of Emma cards to sell at a later date as they were trading in the 5k Starbits region which I felt was a good buy with one eye on the future.

I do sincerely believe that the Rising Star gane has an incredible future ahead of it, we seem to be approaching a tipping point, a critical mass, you could say, with regard to some of the games and apps built upon our beloved Hive blockchain.
