NFTs get physical
If you play @risingstargame then you should know that you can buy music in the form of NFTs there that count towards you card total as well as rewarding the musicians. If you create music then you can pay to mint some copies to sell for whatever price you like. I have bought quite a few there. An innovation was when @langvmusic produced a vinyl NFT in a very limited edition. I could not resist buying it and today it arrived after a long trip from Canada.
This is a real collector's edition with a 10" LP, postcard and a proof of the sleeve, all signed. The postcard had a lovely personal message to me. There are only twelve of these LPs and ten were sold.
Of course I had to play it on my Technics deck and it sounds great. There is a nice variety of music with lots of guest appearances. You can hear it on Soundcloud.
A share of the post rewards will be going to @langvmusic. We should be supporting musicians on Hive if we want more to sign up. I am keen to buy more music with what I earn from blogging as well as in games like Rising Star.

This is what I love to see. We should be supporting businesses on hive be it music or talent.

I have bought a lot of stuff from the community over the years. I see little point in earning HIVE if I am not going to spend some. I want to enjoy it now.

This is great. A physical record brings back memories. Just yesterday I found a box of my old LPs in the attic. Now all I need is a decent gramophone :)

I still have a few old LPs, but have bought a few more in recent years as special editions.
When that video came out I would not have considered how popular it might be with gay men :) I was just looking at her.
That is really awesome. I totally missed this. I likely would have participated as well. Oh well, maybe next time. I doubt I have the liquid funds anyway! I am glad you were able to snag this and that is is enjoyable.
Maybe there will be others. I know there is a long lead time for getting vinyl pressed these days. It might be cool to get some of my own songs pressed eventually.

At the end of the year we will assess how many physical copies have been redeemed! There may be a round 2!

wow this is so cool! I was looking in to getting vinyl cut this year, its NOT CHEAP! But it gets cheaper per unit if you print in bulk like most printing services.... 12 is a VERY low mint! hehe. Well done for supporting this steev, I salute you. A proper collectors item too.
I've not looked into getting physical media for my own music. I know there's a backlog for vinyl. As someone else said Adele may be partly to blame, but demand is outstripping supply. I just can't resist a collectable.

Love this. Love NFTs. Love music - and even more I love that there is an NFT in a music game that has a physical offering as well! Hope I can do something myself in future to join up Hive with physical things too.
Also re: collecting music - I actually set out this year to buy some music from an independent artist once a month and have a post coming soon about that. Musicians do need support (if you like their music!) as only the really big ones make much money from streaming.
I have bought a fair bit of music from Hive musicians this year and less from the mainstream sources. We can build something amazing here. There are more options now. Rock on!
