SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge! PORTAL SPINNER
For this post, let's review one of the Life Cards from Chaos Legion - Portal Spinner. I will be also sharing some of my battles using this card. Before going through the details, let check first this card's stat and lore.
Portal Spinner
Edition: CHAOS LEGION
Rarity: RARE
Element: LIFE
Attack: RANGED
Abilities: SCATTERSHOT AT LVL1, +SNARE AT LVL 5
Portals Spinners are members of the Cult of the Rift, a faction within the Chaos Legion that harnesses rift magic to cast deadly spells.
Portal Spinners siphon life magic from their surroundings to open mini-rifts in the fabric of reality. Some thought to use these portals to travel between realms. However, after attempting to do so, many a Portal Spinner was consumed by whatever foul beasts dwelled on the other side of the portal. Others emerged... rearranged... and either dead or wishing they were dead.
Now, Portal Spinners simply use their portals to launch chaotic and random attacks against their enemies. They might open one portal beneath a fallen sword, boulder, or other weapon of convenience and a second portal above their enemies, sending the weapon through the rift and crashing down on its unsuspecting victim.
If facing enemies capable of flight, Portal Spinners have been known to use their portals to drop nets upon their foes, grounding them... (Portal Spinner Lore)
Portal Spinner Card Review
To maximize the use of this card, you need to know the right configuration. Let's start with the Summoners. Since Portal Spinner is a Ranged Attack card, I would say that General Sloan is the perfect summoner for this card.
How about the Rulesets? For me these are the Rulesets that are most compatible with Portal Spinner.
Rise of the Commons: Only Common and Rare Monsters may be used in battles. Portal Spinner is a Rare means you can use this card in this ruleset. Other cards that prey on the weak cannot be used in this ruleset. | |
Equalizer: The initial Health of all Monsters is equal to that of the Monster on either team with the highest base Health. Portal Spinner has low HP in relative to its mana cost and this ruleset will compensate to that. | |
Close Range: Ranged attacks may be used in the first position in battles. | |
Explosive Weaponry: All Monsters have the Blast ability. Portal Spinner's Scattershot might target the monster in the middle and will be beneficial to blast effect. |
Battle Challenge Line Up
The Battle
My Summoner is General Sloan to buff the attack power of my Ranged Attack monsters. I used this summoner because Ranged Attack monsters can attack in the first position in this battle. |
---|
I used this card as my tank because of its Shield Ability. This will prolong the HP of my range attackers in this battle. |
---|
This is my support in this battle. It's main job is to heal my tank and since this is a Ranged Attack monster, it will also benefit from General Sloan's buff. |
---|
Portal Spinner is one of my main damager in this configuration. It already has 2 Attack Power and will receive a +1 buff from General Sloan. Also there is a chance that it will ignore Shielbearer's Taunt and will attack its support first. |
---|
Together with Portal Spinner, the role of this card is to do massive damage using its Double Strike ability. |
---|
One of my filler cards but will also receive buff from General Sloan to add up to my line up's damage. |
