💥 🔥 Battle Mage Secrets - Taking Sides 🔥 💥
Hello, everyone! It's time for another Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge from Splinterlands. In this post, we will discuss the 'Taking Sides' ruleset, where no neutral units may be used in the battle. For this battle challenge, I will share a Bronze League Modern Format battle. I normally use Venari Marksrat to buff my main attacker. However, Venari Marksrat is a neutral unit. Let's take a closer look at which card I used to still benefit from the Martyr ability.
For this battle, there are specific rules and a mana cap to consider. The ruleset is 'Taking Sides,' which means no neutral units may be used in the battle. The mana cap is set at 21, and the active elements are Fire, Water, Earth, and Life. Given the relatively low mana cap, I took a chance and used Scarred Llama Mage as my summoner. With that said, here's my lineup for this battle:
Summoner: Scarred Llama Mage - I chose this card to significantly boost the stats of my remaining monsters, along with the Martyr ability.
First Position: Mycelic Morphoid - This serves as a filler unit and inflicts damage to melee attackers upfront due to its Thorn ability.
Second Position: Fungus Fiend - Another filler unit, as I've observed that in battles using Scarred Llama Mage against a similar setup, the one to trigger Last Stand ability first tends to lose.
Third Position: Fungus Flinger - This card is unique in the Bronze League as it possesses the Martyr ability in the Earth Element. Its Martyr ability will enhance the stats of Grund positioned at the back.
Fourth Position: Grund - This is my primary attacker and benefits from Last Stand and Martyr buffs. It also boasts the Double Strike ability, allowing it to deal double damage
The enemy used Lobb Lowland, one of the cards that can summon a gladiator card. The gladiator card that the opponent used is Katrelba Gobson, a nastry monster with Double Strike and Sneak ability. The opponent also used Fungus Flinger in hoping to further increase the stats of Katrelba Gobson.
I maybe at disadvantage of this battle. I anticipated that all attacks will be coming from the front. By the end of round 1, I already lost Mycelic Morphoid and the enemy Katrelba Gobson is eating away Grund's HP little by little.
By the end of round 2, my Grund was left with 5 HP only and Fungus Flinger is now at position 1.
And by the end of round 3, both Fungus Flinger and Grund has remaining of 1 HP only.
In round 4, the Fungus Flinger's Martyr ability increased Grund's stats and at the same the, the Last Stand was triggered.
It easily killed the enemy Venari Knifer and at the same round, it also defeated Katrelba Gobson and enemy Fungus Flinger

Marty ability is surely a very useful abiliy. I admit, majority of my battles has a monster with martyr in it. And if the ruleset is Taking Sides, and you are in Bronze League, you can use Fungus Flinger from Earth Element and Fire Caller from Fire Element
