This week, I want to present a fan art of a very beautiful character—a warrior of ice. Throughout this blog, I’ll be talking quite a bit about the character’s lore and traits, while sharing images of the creation process. Hola amigos, comunidad de Alien Art y Splinterlands, espero que estén teniendo un muy lindo día hoy. Qué alegría estar una semana más creando y compartiendo este mágico universo de Splinterlands. Esta semana les quiero presentar un fan art de un personaje muy hermoso, una guerrera del hielo. A lo largo de este blog estaré hablando bastante del lore del personaje, sus características, mientras acompaño con imágenes del proceso de creación. The creature I’ll be drawing today could only be the mystical Theorosa Nightshade, a character known for her skill and strategic use in the game—especially in combat. She’s a figure that is always played with careful planning.

La criatura que dibujaré hoy no puede ser otra que la mística Theorosa Nightshade, un personaje conocido por su habilidad y uso en el juego, sobre todo en el combate. Es un personaje que se juega siempre con estrategia.

Theorosa Nightshade is a powerful sorceress guided by the largest of Splintrales’ moons—the Black Moon of Sardak. Her power is drawn from the glow of that moon, so I had to reflect that in my drawing through magical runes and lunar radiance.

As you can see, I started with my sketch, which I divided into several phases—first two main ones: one for the magical seal and another for the character itself. For the magical seal, I began with the shape of a waning moon as the base, around which I added various runes and symbols. As has become customary with my recent protagonists, I’ll be drawing a very small and kawaii chibi version of the character.

Para el sello mágico, comencé con la forma de una luna menguante como base, a la que agregué alrededor distintas runas y símbolos. Essential elements that define the character cannot be left out—such as her luminous tribal markings on the face and arms, her cloak, tiara, and most iconic of all, her crystal-tipped spear. Regarding the spear, I initially considered a simpler design, but ultimately chose to stay true to the original. I’ll also take this opportunity to adjust the position and perspective of the magical circle.

No pueden faltar elementos que caractericen al personaje, como sus marcas tribales lumínicas en el rostro y brazos, su capa, diadema y lo más característico: su lanza con punta de cristal. Now it's time to add the final details to the line art of my drawing, carefully defining each element. This is a great opportunity to create depth through line weight. I've been falling in love lately with using such thin strokes—I really like how they look. But truth be told, they come with some drawbacks, like how easy it is to color outside the lines when filling in a section.

Ahora sí es momento de darle los detalles finales al line art de mi dibujo, definiendo bien cada elemento. Esta es una buena oportunidad para lograr algunas profundidades con el valor del trazo. Me estoy enamorando últimamente de hacer los trazos así de delgados; me gusta mucho cómo quedan, pero la verdad tienen sus inconvenientes, como por ejemplo que a la hora de colorear es más fácil salirse de una sección del color.

I’ll use a solid block of paint in the same color as the character’s skin to delimit the drawing area. This will help me stay within that zone and color with more confidence, since instead of filling or using the paint bucket tool, I prefer to manually color each section of my drawing.

Utilizaré un bloque de pintura sólido del mismo color de la piel del personaje para delimitar la zona del dibujo. Esto me permitirá no salirme de esa área y colorear con más confianza, ya que en lugar de rellenar o usar la herramienta de bote de pintura, me gusta colorear de forma manual cada sección de mi dibujo.

After a while, I’ve finished coloring all the sections. I also worked on the final color of the magical seal, improving its composition. I really love this color palette—maybe I’ll use it in future drawings and for new characters. I think the intense blue pairs beautifully with the darkness of the skin and the details.

Después de un rato ya tengo todas las secciones coloreadas. Además, trabajé en el color definitivo del sello mágico, mejorando la composición. Me gusta mucho esta paleta de colores; quizás la use en próximos dibujos y como parte de nuevos personajes. Creo que el azul tan intenso combina muy bien con lo oscuro de la piel y los detalles.

After a while, I’ve finished coloring all the sections. I also worked on the final color of the magical seal, improving its composition. This is how my drawing looks now, with shadows and volumes already laid out—I really like it. The only thing left is to enhance and add brightness to the areas that stand out because they emit and reflect light. This will make the character appear not only much more powerful but also fully integrated. For this, I play with blending modes, brushes, and layer adjustments. Since I’m working in Photoshop, it’s very simple, as we can use many tools borrowed from photography to achieve that radiant finish.

Así quedó mi dibujo con las sombras y volúmenes planteados. Me gustó mucho, y solo me queda como último detalle realzar y agregar brillo a las zonas que destacan porque emiten y reflejan luz. Esto hará que el personaje se vea no solo mucho más poderoso, sino integrado en su totalidad. Para esto juego con modos de fusión, pinceles y ajustes de capa. Ya que estoy trabajando en Photoshop, esto es muy sencillo, porque podemos usar muchas herramientas que se usan en la fotografía para lograr ese acabado resplandeciente.
