Hello friends, Alien Art and Splinterlands community! I hope you're having a very lovely day. This is my entry for the Splinterlands Art Contest Week 368, and this time we’ll be drawing in a different way using Ibis Paint on tablet, an app I’m not so used to but excited to explore, and we’ll be illustrating one of the most enigmatic and beloved creatures from the Splinterlands universe. Our protagonist this week is none other than the powerful Blackmoor Nymph, returning once again to be part of my weekly art, and if you know me, you know how much I love her ethereal design filled with natural forms. I hope you enjoy this fan art and the entire process I’ll be sharing with you, and as always, we’ll also talk a bit about the lore behind this fascinating creature just as tradition demands.

Esta será mi entrada para el Splinterlands Art Contest Week 368, y esta vez estaremos dibujando de una forma distinta usando Ibis Paint desde tablet, una aplicación a la que no estoy tan acostumbrado pero que me emociona explorar, y dibujaremos a una de las criaturas más enigmáticas y gustadas del universo de Splinterlands. Nuestra protagonista esta semana no será otra que la poderosa Blackmoor Nymph, que regresa otra vez a ser parte del arte de la semana, y es que si me conocen saben lo que amo su diseño etéreo y lleno de formas naturales. Espero que les guste este fan art y todo el proceso que compartiré con ustedes, y como siempre también hablaremos un poco del lore de esta criatura fascinante como es costumbre.

Blackmoor Nymph is a very rare Earth-type creature that dwells in the ancient, shadowy forests of the Blackmoor Basin. They are guardians and protectors of old-growth woods and of the natural laws and boundaries, maintaining balance between worlds. Thanks to their rarity and unique abilities, they play a key role in deep strategic gameplay.

Blackmoor Nymph es una criatura muy rara del tipo Tierra que habita en muchos y antiguos bosques oscuros de la Cuenca de Blackmoor. Son una especie de guardianas y protectoras de los bosques antiguos y de las leyes y límites naturales, manteniendo el equilibrio entre los mundos. Con su rareza y habilidades únicas, juega un papel clave en profundas estrategias de juego.

And yes, if you’ve seen my previous drawings, you’ll notice this is the third time Blackmoor Nymph appears as the protagonist in one of my pieces, and that’s because last time I fell so deeply in love with her design that I promised I’d draw her again—this time more in my own style, with a bit more creative freedom and away from the manga aesthetic. I’ll be portraying Blackmoor Nymph in the purest and most ethereal way possible, with her characteristic glowing skin, golden facial gems and markings, and her long emerald-green hair cascading over her shoulders. If we look closely at the original card and its artwork, we can see how her eyes are flooded with energy, and I want to represent that in my drawing too. In short, the most important thing will be to convey that forest nymph aura—dangerous and sensual.

Y sí, si han visto mis dibujos anteriores pueden darse cuenta de que esta es la tercera vez que Blackmoor Nymph se une como protagonista de uno de mis dibujos, y es que la última vez me enamoré tanto del diseño del personaje que prometí que lo volvería a dibujar más en mi estilo, con un poco más de libertad creativa y alejado del estilo manga. Estaré representando de la forma más pura y etérea posible a Blackmoor Nymph, con su característica piel brillante, sus gemas y detalles en la cara de color dorado y su larga cabellera verde esmeralda que cae sobre sus hombros. Si nos acercamos a la carta original y a su arte podemos ver cómo tiene los ojos inundados de energía, y quiero representar eso en mi dibujo también. Resumiendo, lo más importante será dar ese aire de ninfa de los bosques, peligrosa y sensual.

I started with a quick sketch just to capture the pose and the shape of the hair, not too many details—I simply let myself flow with the energy of the moment. Using Ibis Paint directly on the tablet makes the sketching process much more free and less detailed, which is something I really enjoy.

Comencé con un rápido boceto solo para la pose y la forma del pelo, no muchos detalles—simplemente me dejé llevar por la energía del momento. Estar usando Ibis Paint directo en el tablet hace que el proceso de bocetado sea mucho más libre y menos detallado, algo que se disfruta mucho.

All right, now let’s jump straight into the final linework of our drawing. I’ll be using the default brush in Ibis Paint—honestly, I really need to get myself a good brush pack if I plan to keep using Ibis Paint for my illustrations. But for now, a solid fine-tip brush will be more than enough for this piece. I’ll only be using that and an airbrush set to multiply for the entire drawing.

Estaré usando el pincel por defecto de Ibis Paint; la verdad necesito hacerme con un buen pack de pinceles si planeo seguir usando Ibis Paint para mis dibujos. Pero bueno, un pincel sólido de punta fina será más que suficiente para mi dibujo. Solo usaré ese y un aerógrafo en multiplicar para todo el dibujo.

We hide (or delete) the sketch layer and that’s it—the line art is ready, so it’s time to start coloring.

Borramos (ocultamos) la capa de nuestro boceto y listo, ya está el line art, así que es momento de comenzar a colorear.

The main color of my drawing will be green, so I’ll sketch the lines and some elements using that color. I want to keep my color palette as limited as possible to achieve better visual cohesion.

El color principal de mi dibujo será el verde, así que plantearé las líneas y algunos elementos con ese color. Quiero tener mi paleta de colores lo más limitada posible para una mejor cohesión visual.

I started with the skin, staying true to the light purple—almost pink—tone from the original card, but adding lots of highlights and sparkles to achieve a more interesting clean look texture.

Trabajé primero en la piel, respetando el color morado claro—casi rosa—de la carta original, pero con muchos brillos y destellos para lograr una textura clean look más interesante.

Now I’ll work on her striking green hair using broad, organic brushstrokes so it looks smooth and ethereal, falling in a magical way rather than just straight down.

Ahora su llamativo pelo verde lo haré con pinceladas orgánicas amplias para que se vea lacio y etéreo, pero que caiga de forma mágica y no simplemente en una caída recta.

The final step will be adding the bright details—both in the facial markings and the jewelry, as well as in the eyes, which will be full of magic and power.

Lo último serán los detalles bien brillantes, tanto en las marcas faciales como en la joyería y los ojos llenos de magia y poder.

I had several ideas for the background, but in the end, less is more—and I think the best choice is to let all the attention focus solely on the ethereal beauty of the character, so it will be a simple solid color.

Tuve varias ideas para el fondo, pero al final menos es más, y creo que lo mejor es que toda la atención se centre solamente en la belleza etérea del personaje, así que será un simple color sólido.

Without a doubt, this was a drawing I truly loved making—one of my favorites in these past few days, during which I’ve been drawing a lot. Sometimes I really need to draw just for fun, and maybe that’s because of how much I love this character, her design, and the wide range of ways she can be portrayed.
